  1. Many years ago stories like this encouraged me to choose the Philippines for my retirement, despite 10+ years of Thai visits. In my 15 years of retirement there I have NEVER visited an Immigration office. No reporting, TM30 etc. It's all handled by helpful staff at the Retirement Authority, every TWO years That's how it should be done, consistency, and simplicity
  2. Really, Philippines has a VE that let's you continue to renew up to 36 months, leave for one day and start again. Also with their retirement visa (SRRV) you never report to Immig for anything (90 day etc) and your card is only renewed once every 2 years. Had mine 15 yrs and never been to an immig office. They also have the usual tourist visa
  3. I see you and raise you one. Your girl was nice but pretty obviously a LB.
  4. That would never happen. If the govt passed such laws they would either be ignored or the right people would be paid off. I remember the law banning riding in the back of pickups after a few deaths. I think it lasted a month and then it's forgetten by everyone.
  5. It probably doesn't matter if the incumbent party cheated. As the Electoral Commission have shown, a way would have been found to keep PP out of office even if they had got the most votes.
  6. Congratulations to that man, he gets the prize! It's all about the money, and commissions.
  7. Not really they voted for Biden to have a second term.
  8. Why would they drive more carefully now the blitz is over? It's all back to normal now.
  9. Unfortunately you could double the pay of the BIB and it would not reduce the inbuilt corruption. It's part of the culture, how else would they pay for their promotions?
  10. The report says 'National Highway' which usually is major roads not the smaller suburban ones. My Filipina partner says that they are also enforcing a rule that drivers must have a drivers license. First fine 1,000 peso! People bought these primarily as no license requirement so bad move, they aren't cheap.
  11. "It is genuinely confusing for an outsider because obviously they could just say no more than 150 days per calendar on ANY combination of TR or Visa Exem" Any new law in Thailand must be open to 'interpretation' by authorities. That's how money is made!
  12. Malaysia gives a 90 day visa free entry so ideal if u want to kill time there. The 3 VE rule applies to a calendar year so on Jan 1st it resets.
  13. Yes, let's reward the invading army by giving them the territory of a sovereign nation.
  14. "As per usual the 6 right wing justices bend the knee to Trump." And if/when the Democrats get in again they will appoint justices who go along with their views! How can you have a Supreme Court that interprets the Constitution in completely opposite ways.
  15. CNN says that it requires 60 senate votes to pass the disputed bill and there are only 50 Republican votes so how can they be in control?
  16. If the police won't enforce the law on ILLEGAL vaping why would they bother to enforce the RULES if vaping was made legal? Doesn't make much sense to me.
  17. If the police won't enforce the law on ILLEGAL vaping why would they bother to enforce the RULES if vaping was made legal? Doesn't make much sense to me.
  18. It looks like someone at TAT is moon lighting, providing stats to the anti-vaping lobby?
  19. Used COD with Lazada here in the Philippines for years. Never ever received a phone call!
  20. If we pay the French more money then they may stop 'persecuting' these terrified migrants?
  21. What did we expect the Thai govt to do, name the 7.?
  22. KL gives a visa free entry, with no hassles. My UK passport gives me 90 days. Some very cheap accom in the Bukit Bintang tourist area. It can be a very inexpensive stay if you are low on funds or just a cheap Charlie like me!
  23. Didn't Starmer used to be a Human Rights lawyer? So he was one of those who used the laws he now wants to change to stop deportations, for a fee of course. Can he be trusted on this turn-around?
  24. "Seeking refuge in the UK" They already had "refuge" in France for Gawds sake, it's just a grab for the money tree.
