  1. If you plan on staying here in Thailand then buying Thai baht gold is considered by most to be a good move.

The reason being, it is so easily traded everywhere throughout the kingdom and considered a means to obtain some quick cash money if and when you need it.

Regardless if the daily price of your Thai baht gold is going up or down you can easily sell it and get some money.

The problem with Gold certificates is relevant to the Currency system collapsing.

If it did collapse then access to the value of your gold certificates would also be a big concern and the reason why having physical gold is preferred.....

Meantime,  having a considerable amount of physical gold on hand comes with its own concerns such as where to safely keep it so no one can steal it from you.

If you have a safe then of course your physical gold is safer ...but does not stop people from attempting to come and steal your physical gold from your house or business or property.

You can keep the gold in a safe deposit box at a bank and of course that is what many people do ...but, if the currency system fails and the bank is failing also then you may not get immediate access to your gold held in your safety deposit box at the failing bank.

There are private safety box deposit companies that will rent you a security box and safely hold your physical gold and far less chance that they would deny access to the contents of your safety deposit box if the currency system was failing.

Many Thai people buy Thai baht gold jewellery as an adornment  while knowing at any time they can trade back the gold and be given cash money for the value of the gold traded on that day while they can also go shopping around and compare prices from one shop to another and finally decide which shop to sell their gold at.

If the international price of gold has gone up enough then they may actually profit while many do when enough time goes by while naturally you can loose money if the price of gold is dropping....but for many it is not really about profit rather the ability to quickly sell the gold and obtain some cash money.

If the currency system collapsed then the  gold is still universally recognised as a medium of exchange and valued

    Cheers

    Hmmmm...She likes touching herself...........

Could that be the start of a new popular "Tween Twend"

Meantime the Go Go Girl dancers should take note as "stuff" like that increases revenues all around..lol

  3. Twice now, over 20 plus years,  I have gone into a 7/11 store to get change for the taxi driver and there was a fairly long queue.....and when I finally came out the cab driver was not there.

It is their job, their responsibility to carry correct change ..same as any cash business operation.

Some of them feign innocence and claim they have no change just to get the extra money...say a 70 baht meter charge and you give them a 100 baht bill ...and they claim they do not have change ...or short change you saying they have only 17 baht in coins....like that

So what do you do...get in an argument with a TAXI driver or accept the small loss....or....say: "wait here"..... and go find a store or someone to make small change for you and do their job for them....lol

    Cheers

  4. Inevitable evolution in many aspects as areas develop

Meantime if they gave the food vendors some sort of alternative rather than just shutting them down then you could very well see some sort of organised street vendor food operations developed in say designated places throughout each area.

They exist all over the place already but all the more will be needed.

If all the street food vendors were to be cleared off the streets, say tomorrow, then where exactly would hundreds of thousands and approaching millions of people eat everyday.

Remember,  Bangkok has a population of approximately 12 million people and when lunch time comes, half the city is out on the street searching for food and a place to eat and when dinner time comes it is similar as  Thai people commonly like to eat outside at side walk food stalls and try different places and different food dishes in the general area where they work or areas where they live.

If that ability is taken away then the volumes of people would overwhelm the remaining (inside ) eateries and there will be lot of really hungry and pissed off Thai people.

If  the government creates a situation where millions of people have their daily eating patterns and eating habits compromised and the ability to easily feed themselves and create a big upset in how millions of people  obtain their food everyday along with an increase in the cost to obtain that food and all that is entailed........the masses of people will not be happy.

Street vendors occupying the side walks and selling clothes and toys and accessories etc. are a much different story.

We are talking about food here and the need for millions of people to eat everyday and that particular fact of life supersedes near everything else of importance.

Take away peoples easy and convenient access to food and you WILL HAVE an unruly mob on your hands.

    Cheers

  5. More her fault than yours being on the wrong side of the road and she must have seen you ........but nope she does not slow down or give way or exercise any caution when she is the one that is going to feel some pain when an accident happens.

I can only surmise she thought you saw her coming and would let her pass in front of you first...  but you did not see her.

They will blame you anyhow as she is just an old lady on her bicycle and you are a farang and believed to have much, much more money..... so blame you.

I would also blame you if I was a Thai.....and more or less obligated to blame you by way of Tradition ...LOL

Survived two shots to the head with a 38, how?

    I hope she recovers.

Unfortunately these incidents seem to be occurring more frequently.

    Soft lead bullets ..maybe?

With smaller caliber bullets and made from softer lead the skull is thick enough to take the impact enough that the bullet does not blast through and destroy enough of the brain ...could be?

There was a case of a hit man in New York that walked up behind his victim and placed a .22 caliber hand gun to the back of the victims head and shot 3 times in the exact same place and ran away while the victim fell unconscious to the ground.

Still alive, the victim was taken to the hospital and released later that same day with a slight bone fracture and a headache.

Turns out the point of the gun barrel was placed on the thick bone part at the back of the skull ( occipital bone ) and the .22 caliber gun used soft lead bullets.

The first bullet flattened out on the thick hard bone and the next 2 bullets piled up on top of the first and second bullets.

More the fault of men..?  Actually you need two people it's a partnership and blame lays equally with the male and female.

    Yep...more the fault of men.

Men are always chasing women to get them in bed and have sex with them while most women do not conduct themselves like that for fear of rape or fear of pregnancies or fear of diseases or fear of ruining their reputation while men most men do not care and seize the opportunity when it presents itself...not all ..but most.

Everywhere in the world you have men who have fathered several children with different women while having dozens or often enough hundreds of sexual encounters with loads of strange women while women overall will have far less sexual encounters during their lives.

Men will have sex with near anything under near any circumstances....lol

But you can see it your way if you think or believe otherwise.

am always amazed that contraception so cheaply and easily available isnt used much by the girls

Of course the easiest and quickest form of contraception is a condom and works really well.

Most girls are not on the pill because they do not have a husband or boy friend or a regular lover, but life happens sometimes ( all too often actually ) and then one day or usually in the evening time or late at night the girl has sex with "some guy"  ....while the (Guy) should be the one practicing safe sex and thinking about not making babies and or transferring his existing STI ( if that is the case and often is ) or contracting a STI from the girls infected vagina.

But nope...most guys just have to "stick it in there",  unprotected and all and most of them will ejaculate inside the girls vagina to make matters worse.

If you think about the spread of STI's and the global population explosion and unwanted teen girl pregnancies everywhere then be aware it is more the fault of men than it is women...but women get the blame or certainly blamed more and held accountable far more.

    Nice eh
