Over the top completely! A really, REALLY stupid comment! Ridiculous "Thai bashing" nonsense!

Until I retired I used to work in a government owned building in Luxembourg City. Legionnella tests were carried out regularly on the water supplies and air-conditioning units in that building and the detailed results were provided to everyone who worked there. Those tests almost invariably came back positive for Legionella despite the best efforts of the building maintenance team to eliminate the damned bacterium using chlorine gas to disinfect the water systems and God knows how many other disinfectant chemicals. Legionella is not easy to eliminate, permanently.

This bacterium is a big problem throughout the world; it is present in the hot water systems of most hotels, offices and domestic dwellings. Do you ever get the hot water or air-conditioning systems where you live checked for Legionella? 100:1 odds on, you'll find it in the shower heads and in the water system.

The thing that worries me more in Thailand is the use of the "misting" systems that are often installed outside bars and restaurants. The supply pipework is usually in direct sunlight so the water inside the pipes, when it is turned off, will attain the ideal temperature range for the development of thriving colonies of Legionella. Then when the system is turned on, it will likely eject an aerosol of concentrated Legionella bacteria all over anyone in the vicinity; that should be a matter of real concern to health officials!

Whether you know this or not or whether you believe it or not that particular type of bacteria can be eliminated by way of Colloidal Silver and proven so.

Very few people know about this means to kill bacteria but it works where other means to control or kill bacteria does not work.

But, it is not Government approved so you will seldom see it applied while it is safe and far safer than the usual means used to kill bacteria

    Just for your information.

    Cheers

  2. As I have pointed out many times before:

All too many Thai drivers drive with a bad attitude that results in them doing what ever they please and what ever suits them at the time while what they do is done with a:  "I am making my move and everyone else is required to accommodate my move"  type of mentality and attitude .....regardless of how reckless and or dangerous the maneuver.

This is another clear case of a Thai driver operating their motor vehicle  with that kind of attitude and mentality where they are making a dangerous move but they expect everyone to accommodate their move while " right of way"  decorum is not considered at all and does not exist at all in most of their minds.

Most of the time everyone does accommodate the reckless or dangerous move because they are actually paying attention or they have room to do so... or....all too often they are suddenly forced to do so and narrowly avoid colliding with one another as you see in the video, but still, the motorcycle driver was Forced to react to the dangerous and reckless move made by the pickup driver who is impatiently and selfishly crossing the intersection and violating "right of way" driving decorum and driving sensibilities rather than simply wait for several more seconds  for the motorcycle to pass by and then make their move to cross the intersection when the traffic conditions are safe to do so.

But nope...the driver goes for it and expects everyone else to accommodate their selfish,  reckless and dangerous move while the end result all too often is what you see in the video while similar situations and events are occurring  all over the country and standard driving practice amongst most Thai drivers with that: ME FIRST driving attitude and driving mentality resulting in thousands of accidents throughout the country.

And then he or she drives off as if what they did had nothing to do with the motorcycle driver being forced off the road in that manner.

Good thing they are installing more and more CCTV and video recording devices everywhere as you can be assured the truck driver would continue to out right lie about the part they played if not for the video evidence proving they are lying and proving they were in the wrong and the reason the incident happened.

    Cheers

in order for thais to ''like or even except us''we must fit into the box they want to keep us in.,some of us do and some of WON'T..if you wont ,they will be your enemys for life and if you ''speak out'',they will rally every thai in the area and surrounding areas to hate you, hate your wife your child your dog your car your house.etc etc....but hey..''its hard to make good enemys''..lol....sawadee no crap no way...

In some respects they are primed to loathe us...not really hate us ....but they could easily turn against us if incited.

We could easily be their scapegoat if events turn for the worse and they vent their anger and frustrations while we are here and the obvious targets.

All that is needed is some political group or political mouth piece whipping up anger and dissent and national pride while blaming all problems, present and past on the "foreign invasion"

Other than that, all over Thailand, everywhere I go: They love me "long time"  ..so I am excluded....lol

Looks to me that he is sitting in the car

I think the taxi was being blamed as to have caused an accident with the motorcycle guy(s) and then simply drove on like nothing happened while probably very little happened other than the moto guy(s),  driving recklessly, as usual, and the taxi driver(s ), driving recklessly, as usual, while both parties crossed paths and had a minor collision and then both parties adamantly believe it was the other parties fault, as per usual again...lol

So, the taxi driver is accused of fleeing the scene of a minor accident that happened just before and back there a ways and  before the video started while the moto boys chased after the taxi in unison...just like in a Hollywood movie ...just like super heroes do ...but.....all of them arriving with the usual pent up emotional rage and combined with Thai man boxing skills and ready to be utilised......all primed and ready for revenge along with their kill mode switched on.

Then the Taxi gets trapped in traffic and more or less stuck beside the bus and then the moto boys arrive and descended upon the Taxi driver and his vehicle to exact their street style Thai justice and exact revenge upon an inanimate object.

That about sums it up...I surmise

  5. Bashing a car....hmmmmm.....more  like a harmless slap on the surface of the car.

Using a baseball bat would be "bashing" a car....

Poor Car...its feelings must have been hurt

The supposed rules say the taxis are obligated to stop as they are a public service and under guidelines and regulations.

Meantime the taxis drivers do what they want to do anyhow and what ever suits them regardless of the rules while the guy should not have slapped the car to get the driver to stop...but it worked...lol

    Cheers

  6. Very simple : Access and Availability to ALL their feminine charms.

Seriously,  If you live jn a place like Saudi Araba or Pakistan or any country where there is no or very little access or availability to female companionship then you may not want to live there in that respect.

Meantime the women here, over all, are very charming and very friendly and very feminine and a good percent of them are attractive.

There is an air of femininity and charm about them that any man would like while a lot of foreign women like them also.

Years ago, my wife and I were staying for a couple of nights in Mae Hong Song. We went out to the town centre for a meal and a drink and had to walk back along a small back road to our hotel late at night.

At first we noticed a couple of these mangy scab ridden swine hounds following us. Within less than 5 minutes we were pursued by a pack of about 20 of these filthy creatures and they were baying for blood.

I had never seen anything like it and will admit I was crapping myself. The wife was a quicker thinker than me and she told me to look for a stick.

I found a piece of tree about 4 feet long and two inches thick, once I swung that, the filthy mutts did a runner!

It was only a little later that I tapped the stick on the road and it fell to bits like powder - A bit like the Billy Connely story about breaking a bottle of Irn Bru to try and bottle someone and being left with only the bottle cap in your hand.

I have had a few run ins with the mangy dog packs myself.

As soon as you make like you are picking up a rock or stick or branch or weapon of some sort they scatter....but I noticed there is always an Alpha male that sort of stands its ground before finally backing off.

As long as they are fed well enough they are just doing their dogs will be dogs and natural "doggity dog"  conduct....but they can turn vicious sometimes and run you down and attack you depending on the circumstances.

And a good number of people are bit by dogs having rabies and other infections that can be life threatening.

But Thailand being the way it is, they more or less let the dogs be and do their dog things until it really gets out of hand and then they finally do something about it.

Clearly very differently to me, as you see spending money on the poorest as a bad thing, you see lifting 20% of the population out of abject poverty as "screwing" the middle class, when the clear reality was he spent money on farmers in the way of agricultural loans, he enabled them to buy tractors, combines, start hydroponic farms, fish farms, all sorts of capital led changes to farming, presumably the very same changes you want to see happen, yet bizarrely you have a problem with the very same party who started that change, instead seeing the others, those content to allow half the population to stagnate as sustenance farmers, as the lesser evil, while they channel their expenditure into shopping malls, a single one consuming more electricity than an entire province of Thailand.

Yes...and that, in part, is what happened.

He was the first guy to pay attention to the plight of the farmers and address their concerns in meaningful ways while he did not do it for free rather it was also profitable for him ...but, at least he had a plan that created all the more consumerism and spread around the wealth and the money while the spin off effect that happens when relatively large sums of money are funnelled into areas that are undeveloped always has a great deal of benefits and lots of appreciation....

The guy was a crook for sure and did everything and more than all the other crooks, but, for all those people that benefited from his policies they can easily forgive and or ignore the fact that he was also raping and pillaging the country like all the others ...but the difference was, he gave to them more than they had ever received before in the form of money and social services and commercial business opportunities to profit from and the means to conduct business and  generate income and move up and out of dire poverty.

All of that which was greedily withheld by the other people in power for so long and by those in positions of wealth and power and positions to share some of the wealth ....but..... they did not...and that is fact...they did not ...but he did....and hence the admiration and loyalty to the man and his politics.

Similar to a good boss verses bad boss or a "Cheap Charlie", greedy boss verses a generous and benevolent boss type of scenario while working at a large wealthy corporation.

Who would you be inclined to want to work for or work with???

  9. Same old story....

You never really appreciate what you have or had until it is gone.

Go to another place and stay there long enough to recognise all the problems and short comings and abundance of stupidity along with all the low life characters hanging around in any popular destination and I can near guarantee you 99 % you will be recognising that Pattaya is a more than suitable place to be located and relevant to all that it has to offer.

Of course it has changed after 25 years, both positive and negative in many aspects while you should not dwell on the past and make comparisons rather enjoy what Pattaya does have to offer, which includes more positive aspects than it did 25 years ago and learn to tolerate the negatives.

Everywhere you go has both negatives and positives while living there.

    Cheers

  10. Another case where the victim should have a crime reduction option available to him or her:

Pay 1000 Baht x 5 minutes x how many minutes preferred while the low life Perpetrator is held in a jail cell and you get to have minimum 5 glorious and satisfying minutes with the Perpetrator.

If you want or need a Baseball bat then that is available for another 500 baht.

Another option: The Perpetrator is stripped naked and paraded around in Public at the end of a rope noose and a large sign around their neck explaining their perpetrated crime and walked around in public for 2 days minimum.

Before some of you respond, think about it,  as the present system is not working as planned

I'm a little curious about who's taking the video, and how crazy their driving must have been to keep up with this nimrod.

More than likely a guy on a Motorcycle.....and good thing he was a concerned citizen..... while more than likely the person doing the filming was the first victim or amongst the first to be side swiped and angered by the incident and proceeded to follow and film the guy while following the truck driver seems to have made the truck driver speed all the more hoping to evade the person in pursuit...

Meantime...As I have pointed out before all too many Thai drivers have Som Tum on their minds, hence the reason for all the reckless driving conduct that is witnessed all the moreso with personal video camera equipment made available for affordable prices.

I now see a lot of the Taxi Cabs have the Video recording devices in their Taxi cabs....but I ask them what do they do if they are the ones causing the accident and it is recorded....Then there is silence, meaning the obvious....delete that part leading up to the accident...LOL

  12. The police are not arresting anyone,  although it looks that way and or reported as such by the media...... rather all those guys are there for a job interview to determine if they can be worthy business associates and work closely with the police and share the revenues and make plans about ways to generate more revenue together.

What..?......None of you people recognise a business meeting when you see one....lol

    Cheers
