  1. I would say its exactly this. Who pays the most coffee money carries the most favor.
  2. I lived and worked in KL for a good few years. Always amazed me the amount of US chain type restaurants and grills there compared to Bangkok. Chilis, TGI Fridays, Outback Steak house, Tony Romas etc. I know the last 2 were in Bangkok for a time - but only a few outlets and they never lasted. Actually quite miss Outback steakhouse at Discovery. I think if RL couldn't make it work in KL it wont last long in BKK. IHOP didnt last long.
  3. https://bit.ly/3IawItP They are on Lazada also, but shipping from China. Will do what you are after though.
  4. Shipping Pallets are also made from real wood. Likely what these originally were.
  5. Pruksa Garden. Certainly not villas. The typical bungalow resort you find in any thai provincial town. Note furniture is usually standard in most daily rentals.
  6. Screens way too small. For 6k id rather have a new Redmi phone.
  7. I recall meeting a low life about 15 years ago in coffeeworld on silom one saturday. He was coming in with a load of high end products from powerbuy or robertsons, stashing them there with his mate, then running out and shopping again. I didn't know at the time but it turned out he was stealing credit cards from people at the airport. His thinking being that if on long haul flights they wouldn't miss their card until they arrived - or even if on the flight there was nothing they could do. So he had a 10 hour window for shopping.
  8. No it isn't. Type in Juristic Management and hit search. Here I've helped you: shorturl.at/HORY7
  9. Juristic Management. They are bigger scammers than the hired help. The sole goal for them is to coin it in for a year and if they are really lucky - a second year.
  10. Ok so if it wasn't as per this case where someone (presumably docile) accidently took your bike, what was your plan if you followed the airtag and it landed it you at the home of a criminal gang - probably armed?
  11. As a rough guess i would say the contracted maids/cleaners at our condo spend 50% of their time on any given day picking through the bins and retrieving the bottles, cans and cardboard. They stash these amongst the trees and overgrowth until they have enough to fill a truck - that they call in maybe once every few months. I've seen the driver hand over usually something like 1 to 2k. They get maybe 10 baht a box of bottles, 10 baht per kg of cardboard etc. So the five maids each get maybe 200/300 baht extra a month - but spend half their paid working hours accruing it.
  12. So ( at least) one of your bikes was stolen and you successfully recovered it?
  13. You must be taking something though, making you so paranoid. On the bong to much maybe.
  14. i wonder is there another post somewhere where the ops in a guest house with a new age hippy next door over. They have to smoke pot all day so the medication music and om chanting doesn't drive them insane.
  15. https://bit.ly/3ltp5Xp You can buy these ice makers for home. A mate has one and it makes ice in the hollow cylinder shape you describe. Awesome little piece of kit.
  16. This most be well known about. When the news broke about the macau site getting busted a few days ago, the mrs was able to tell me then that its just the big police guys protecting their own illegal gambling business. Taking out the competition. As spidermike007 says, i think if we knew the full extent of corruption here, and the numbers involved, it would fry our minds. Yet it seems to be an open secret.
  17. Ye i think the maids take a picture and it downloads to a shared drive or dropbox or something. We were in patts a few months back and when we checked out they claimed we had taken one of the smaller hand towels. Mrs objected and the receptionist showed her a photo of the room with the towels laid out on the bed - with only one hand towel. So obviously the maid has snapped a photo. Mrs went back and found it mixed in among the bed sheets. First time this had happened
  18. i wonder if its the business where they were washing and repacking used rubber gloves for sale.
  19. Knowing how thai ladies settle these types of (farang) disagreements your wife very likely apologized for you and agreed to give ML 100 baht next time she sees her.
  20. You can order them at the LG Service center. Take note of the exact model number and give them a call.
  21. They have not innovated for years. Cheaper brands have caught up. 10k Oppo or Xiaomi does the job.
  22. KFC is doing a bucket for one - just 69 Baht - down from 99, 2 pc chicken and chips. Hope that helps.
  23. My K bank one is full. I only ever use it for Immigration purposes now but in that case they just stick new pages in.
