  1. Tap water. Plenty of other things will take me out before the tap water. Chillax!
  2. Malaysia couldn't even make it work despite all the money Petronas pumped into it. Tickets were just to expensive for the locals and they lost interest after a few years. I used to go every season and sit on the back straight for 600 MYR with the pre booked 50% early bird special. Last few years it was held i used to just buy tickets from the touts - they were nearly always Petronas hospitality tickets - so it got to the point they couldn't give them away.
  3. Our condo building is about 15 years old now. In the basement carpark you can see all the exposed pvc waste pipes from the 1st/Ground floor condos. About 20% are leaking at joints. Of course they never properly fix them - they just wrap inner tube around it and tie it off. Since we are a top floor unit i thought we would be immune from any issues. As bad luck would have it we noticed a big wet spot developing on the kitchen ceiling one morning after heavy rain. Upon investigation we found it was a drain pipe from the condo roof that diverted through the suspended ceiling in our unit. Same thing as id seen in the carpark - water was weeping through the joint on the 90 deg bend. So while the longevity of the PVC pipes are fine - id say the workmanship is not. When they apply the solvent cement i think they take little care to ensure its fully applied around the full circumference of the pipe.
  4. I have Xiaomi Mi Air purifier 3C. I just leave it on Auto and let it do its thing. It typically shows 001 - 010 at most when running full time. If i open the balcony door then it might jump to 030 momentarily - until the fan speeds up.
  5. Maybe the girls will put out some of those yellow "Caution, wet floor signs".
  6. Yes done it a few times years ago. They sell little punches to do it but you can just print a template online, stick it on and cut round it. You wont destroy it as long as you don't cut into the chip.
  7. I get a receipt 90% of the time. If i don't i ask for it. Not an insignificant amount of money these days.
  8. If they are active speakers (plugged in as they need power) then you don't need an amp - just a 5.1 channel audio decoder.
  9. Proof? im sure the op got a receipt when he paid to fill his tank. If it was filled at 9.15 am in the morning and at 9.20 you can fill it again then there is something serously amiss.
  10. I was referring more to the investigation (police). If the op paid for a full tank of gas its not hard to prove if it was really filled or not. Try and fill it up again and if it takes another 1600 baht then case close.
  11. 5 speakers - is it a 5.1 surround system? You could just buy a 5.1 channel amp on lazada (with bluetooth). Dont know what plugs are on your speakers but its usually banana connectors - likely plug straight into the new amp. If they are RCA or something else just buy adapters online.
  12. Exact same situation with us. Even our sinking fund was cleared out. We co owners took the developer and JM to court at our own expense and the case was essentially dismissed by the judge. Likely attends the same private members club as the developer.
  13. I know its thailand and the police are what they are - but surely if you filled up a full tank 52 litres and paid 1600 baht or whatever and your gauge is only showing 2 or 3 litres moments later then its clear you were never filled up to start with.
  14. Here's an idea. Cut down on the ridiculous amount of uniforms they need. My daughter has a few sets of the shirt and skirt (the standard), sports set (tracksuit and house shirt), the scout uniform and finally the traditional thai dress one they wear on the 'special days'. Scattered through out the year they have concerts they do that need a certain theme dress additional to all these.
  15. I stay near BTS Onnut and i think the project by Sansiri at T77 is awesome for families. I don't live at it - but take my daughter there regularly. Its like its own little gated town with the Habito mall and the Chul farm. They have a little petting zoo with goats and sheep, ducks and chickens. At weekends they sell fruits and veg they harvest on the farm and do kids activities. Bangkok prep secondary is right on the campus - i dont know about kindergarten level though.
  16. I first came out here on an expat package (single in a junior management role) in 2005. Equivalent salary to home, rent covered, all car expenses covered (lease, fuel, tolls). The 2007/8 finance crisis hit and first thing the company done was recall all expats (maybe about 20 people). I was given an extra years contract (as i was likely the lowest cost expat) to help cover the mess and tidy things up as we had multiple high end condo rentals vacated mid term, international school positions relinquished, contacts abandoned etc. When clearing the bills and leases I recall one guy lived in a 120k rental on the river and had three kids at international school at 500k a year each. Plus extras like British club membership. Blew my mind, 3mb+ even before his salary and expenses. After the year was up i was offered to stay on a local package - essentially salary plus health insurance - or go home to my old position. I stayed as i couldn't imagine going home after almost 5 years here. I'm not even close to the value of the package i first came out on 17 odd years ago.
  17. I remember there was a schoolchild learning the tuba in the last condo i stayed in. 2 hours of hell each week. I never complained as it was a kid but it drove me crazy. 2 hours (daily) of someone playing a trombone regardless of their talent would be a nightmare.
  18. I fear the soft power of mango sticky rice may already be on the wane. How are Lalisa's balls she likes to chew on doing?
  19. Seen a young lady at our condo this weekend on a Fatboy rental bravely heading towards sukhumvit. Very clearly her first or at best second time ever on a motorcycle. The security guards were almost passed out laughing at her. I thought to intervene and tell her to catch herself on but in this new woke world i would likely be a accused of misogyny. A GoFundMe campaign waiting to happen.
  20. Pointless comparison. Minimum wage in thailand is 8 quid a day. Its 9.50 an hour in the UK. That's almost a weeks work for some Thai's to fill a tank.
  21. All these advertising articles now - was that golf rag last week. My networking happens on the bar stool for the price of a Leo + beautiful women included.
  22. I thought maybe the title was missing question mark after the the word response. Seems its for real though.
