Thats because the British got the contents free by stealing it from other countries. My tax paid for Buckingham Palace. So why cant I get in there free?Natural history museum in London etc. free to all, including tourists
You need to climb over the back wall
Your tax receipts must go back quite a while, if you think you paid for Buck House!

Lower Toyota sales nothing to with boring "new" models released this year

One way to lessen the outrage is to regard it as a 'Thai subsidy' rather than a 'farang tax'.
How many Thais would go to the parks and zoos and so on if they had to pay the outrageous sums we do?
It's not a subsidy. Back in 1999 it cost 20 baht for everyone to enter national parks. Then the 400 bt fee for foreigners was introduced.

If it's been dug in clay soil, it should seal itself.
It's definitely clay, like adobe. Mush when saturated, hard as a rock when dry. It's been 2 years and several filling and soaking away cycles. How long would you give it?
Can't help you with the time needed. Thought perhaps it was a new pond. Ours already existed on our land when we took over. Seemed to drain slowly, but now it only seems to evaporate.

I remember a few years ago, a report quoted here on TV/CM about veggies being tested for pesticides. Long green beans were way over the safe limit. We grow them in our garden, no spray needed, never have any pests eat them. So why are they sprayed by farmers? "Cos we always do". How many other crops here are pest resistant but get sprayed anyway?
Btw, was up in the hills hiking recently. Couldn't believe the amount of pesticides being sprayed
Mon Jam was one place where spraying seemed excessive.

It's right opposite the coffee shop where everyone waits or fills in forms. There is a sign at the door, but it does not show Residency. Next to the photocopy shop.
Just two guys inside, both very helpful. I would be too at B500 per customer!!
So it's not immigration officers? Just like across the road. Why can't we apply at an official immigration office?

music is a bit dreary.
What would you prefer?
Kylie Minogue singing "I should be so lucky"? -
Can't help you with the testing, but unless my wife wraps the guava in paper/plastic bag, the fruit gets eaten by bugs. We don't spray our trees in our garden.

I do all the paperwork incl providing photos etc?
Until the online appointment system is back up & running, consider it a cost of living out in the sticks. Sure better than living in the concrete jungle
Best of luck!

8 years old kids shouldn't own a cell.
disagree ..... what if she is in trouble or someone attempts to abduct her ? if she has no mobile she has nothing ..
How about responsible parents or guardians looking after 8 year olds.
I am sure any potential abductor is not going to give his victim time to dial up and chat with mommy.
Might want to discuss ransom, unless that isn't their motive

I went in for my 90 day this past Monday (2 days ago) at 10:30AM. Really like the new location, great parking, comfortable both inside and out, good vibes, got my ticket and was done in less than 1 1/2 hours and did not mind the wait at all (walked around etc). I will use the nearby agency for my annual extension this year as they may need time to work out some of the bugs in the system. Only 3000baht, was told if I bring them my paperwork before 11:30am I will get my passport and extension by mid afternoon.
Not sure what all the bitching is about here?

What good would a phone do if someone wants to abduct her? You need to microchip them for that ;-) We might be an adventurous family, but my kids don't leave our very large garden alone. always supervised, either at school or with adults. They play in the garden alone, dogs take care of snakes.

You must also live in some superheroes palace where you don't have extreme temperatures and it never storms.
Your 8 year old hikes, mountain bikes and white water kayaks, you're kids are quite the superheroes.
Glad I don't live in your village! You've obviously lived a sheltered life.
Would you send your kids outside in Thailand with it either extremely hot or constantly raining, not to mention the crazy drivers and the possible kidnappers.
You don't see a kid outside playing in my village until around 5:3pm when the temperature starts to drop.
My kids hike, mountain bike, white water kayak. Get a life!!!
Chiang Mai. We don't head out when there's a storm, or in the heat of the day. We don't live in a sterile gated community, either. we're adventurous ;-)
My Thai wife was a little blinkered when we met, but she's come round

Aren't they banned from international airspace?
