Noticed this myself more and more around town.Looks like Thai kids will not only have to learn English but Chinese too.
They do.

Was looking for years and finally found good quality ones at Global. Bought two. Ask at customer service.
Do they keep them under the counter? What else are they hiding?

You can expect traffic chaos anywhere at the moment. Big tail backs this morning on superhighway near Makro, and 1317 heading into town. Someone important on the roads? I managed to escape it

Why not move graduation to the new Convention Centre on Canal Road?
When I graduated from university, the ceremony wasn't at the University, but somewhere more grander.

They should just get on and close it... It does nothing anyway, save the money!
OR, make it useful again!
I have had extremely good service from the Chiang Mai office over many years.
The good service you had over many years is meaningless now that the consul does virtually nothing for UK citizens in northern Thailand.
As Jim says, either close it or make it useful again

I recommend following the Mekong river from Nong Khai towards Loie, then through the mountains to the west.

Yes, much of the smoke/pollution comes from neighbouring regions.

9 years ago it was 200 bt per metre for 2" pipe. 400bt for 4".

Traditionally we think of fencing as timber based because Western climes are more considerate and timber is plentiful and cheap-ish.
Here the mindset is different, the wood/bamboo fencing panels are considered temporary and they would often go for concrete/masonry/steel/shera/conwood etc.
Really you need to be thinking in terms of any combination of the above.
Concrete posts are ridiculously cheap as is square section steel. If it was me I would set about concreting in some 4x4 concrete posts at 8 foot centres and fixing 2 or 3 1" square section rails (subject to your height) and then clad the rails with 8mm shera planks.
That makes a pretty robust fence, attractive when painted; offers privacy and keeps in or out whatever.
Other than that your options are fairly limited unfortunately.
My thoughts, exactly. Too lazy to type it all....

Carryboy do a soft lid. Have had mine 2 years now. Looks very professional. Cost me 4500 bt back then from the carryboy dealer on Hwy 11 just south of Isuzu dealer.

Tailback from Airport Plaza to Varee at lunchtime. Thought they were all heading to the airshow, but no, 2 lanes queuing for AP! As we crossed over Hangdong road, there was a queue from south as far as eye could see

Rain
in Chiang Mai
Can anyone remember this amount of rain in January ? Only been here 6 years so need a long timers memory but just come back from Mae Hia Market and some local roads around my area in Hang Dong are 4-6 inches under water with guys trying to clear blocked drains.
Once you've been here a long time, it's hard enough trying to remember what you did last week, let alone something like several years ago

Rain
in Chiang Mai
The citizens of Chiang Mai must be expecting a deluge of biblical proportions, seeing how they all seemed to be in MAKRO stocking up, after the storm hit

There has been the extended NY holiday.
"before Xmas" is rather vague....

Nice people here in CM but totally clueless in traffic
Lots of paint markings on the tarmac indicating shunts as traffic stops for red lights on superhighway northbound near Saraphee. My guess is that many accidents were caused by our visitors from further south (BKK) in their crazy rush to get to laid back Chiang Mai.

my new slip from CM Immigration has the bar code.....I'm from the US if that is making a difference.
as does mine from 80+ days ago
They all do...sorry no special benefits...even for Americans.
Mine doesn't. UK passport. Only reported by mail (1 time, last month) not in person.

Mine was a tongue in cheek reference to the fact that fire and altitude aren't replicated in ground tests.
It was a ground test with the engine bolted to a test frame, the engine was running and the goose, followed by a couple of chicken carcasses i believe were fired out of a pipe under high pressure to simulate a speeding aircraft, no damage to the engine, lot of burnt mince meat. I think you can find it o youtube
Was it on fire and in the air?I wouldn't have thought that those flimsy lanterns would be a problem for a jet engine. I have seen tests done on a Rolls Royce jet engine that managed to ingest a dead goose without problems
Posts to this forum often go "way over" some reader's heads, at very high altitude, sometimes

Even if they line the bike lanes with posts to stop cars driving / parking on them, it wont stop them being used as motorbike parking!

There isn't a screen big enough that I'd watch EPL football on, with kids running around.
Are you referring to Alan Hansen's famous "you'll never win anything with kids" quote?
Oops, just noticed the comma....

I thought 90 days reports were free. What's this about paying 7-11?
Shouldn't Immigration be paying 7-11 to do their job, freeing up officers for more important work?
