There's a shop selling Feelfree kayaks on the road running alongside the railway station.

Looking at the number plates on cars on superhighway heading to CM today, probably best to head to BKK. Should be a ghost town...

I have actually ridden past that a few times & the word Steak caught my eye
Ever eaten there yourself?
No, I heard it was quite pricey. "cowboy ripoff", top quality, or keeping the riff-raff out? No idea.

Do they offer blood tests too? Might save a trip to Dr Morgan's clinic

He's right about elephants roaming the streets, not wild elephants but nonetheless elephants wanting food at the bars in Chiang Mai. I have been here a little longer and well remember them.
" Elephants still roamed the streets then . . . everywhere"
A tad overstating it. Truth - a few elephants with mahouts begging......

Thanks for the heads up not to drive ANYWHERE in that area for the next few weeks. The last thing we want on the roads around here is SALT.

The foreign restaurants are light years ahead of when I first got here and some are not too far off from decent places back home.
Prices too

The headline implies that its the lowest ever temp recorded. -1 not unusual at this time of the year.
Agree. What would you expect on top of highest mountain in the cold season. News would be "warm weather on top of Doi Inthanon in winter"

Keep checking with Jacky, he tends to close up shop on a whim and go off on a tour. I d'ont think he has staff so he has to close if he wants to go out for lunch. One of the reasons he is so unreliable and doesnt have a long list of loyal customers.
OK, thanks, at least I now know the location hasn't changed. Not easy to get in there from out of town, what with terrible traffic in that area. Any idea what time they are supposed to open?
Jacky doesn't have anything larger than 17" either.
They appear to only want Thai customers.17.5 might be good for me, with the 29 inch wheels.

I brought a couple of packs back from UK a few years ago, then saw the same here in Tesco, I think. Doesn't mean they still have them...
We (wifey) always hangs the washing under the carport, out of the sun. Prolongs the life of the clothes. Sun far too strong here.

He was there years ago before he moved to Nimmanhemin so it's likely the entry in GMaps is out of date. Did you try Chaitawat in old town?
Tried Chaitawat - nothing bigger than 15.5" for 29er, a Marlin 7. Not sure what size I want, so don't want to order without seeing something close to my size. Probably 17.5 or 18.5".

Have they closed the old location off Nimm soi 13? Drove by yesterday & all locked up. Googling brings up a new location just south of Chang puak, soi 2 on Chotana rd. Went there today, nothing. Looking for Trek X-caliber 7. Found a small shop further south on Chotana towards Chang Puak gate. He has several larger framed Trek mtbs in stock, but not what I'm after. Friendly fellow, no problem pulling the bikes out of line to sit on.

Hello
Any update about possibility to report address at 7-11 or on the internet?
Did someone do it by post/mail and it was ok, not "lost"?
Can any person report for me to the offices?
thanks!
Hi Samui4me, I did my first 90 day report by post a couple of weeks ago,
was apprehensive about it ,but it all went well, just follow the pinned thread
at top of the page, only problem was I had to wait in the Q half an hour at
the post office, but if i go early next time it will be lot easier.
regards Worgeordie
Me too. Got mine back within a week, & there was a public holiday on one day. Registered mail, both ways. And I posted it only 7 days before due date.

What barcode? My 90 day report 2 weeks ago didn't come back with a bar code. Had to fill in a form & send photocopies of stuff. Guess you're not in CM?
