We also bow down to no one. Besides God of course. Handshakes are a mutual respect, and I use them here, although many aren't used to them and appear shy when I try.

Oh please, just extending common courtesy, as anyone would, especially at a solumn affair. Also a bit of politics.

He did skip the photo opt, so that says much more, and good for him.

Even with his low opinion of foreigners, that I somewhat agree with, I like him, as seems less corrupt, I think. At least no in the news.

This fragile man is likely a lot stronger in body and mind at my age than you'll ever be, so assume elsewhere. I understand Thai customs as well as anyone, not only from being here and living with them for 9 years, but researching decades before I ever moved here. so again, assume elsewhere as you have no idea what anyone here knows.

I associate with many government workers here who are co-workers of my girlfriend, who, according to her, all appreciate that I've been respectful to them for over 5 years, at weddings, funerals, meetings, cookouts and at their homes. They both accept and like me, and invite me to their homes many times.

No comment on the original story. But I prefer the slight bow as a greeting vs. a handshake or wai. Don't see me getting down on my knees to do it though.

Do you not realize that every time you come here to try and correct me, you're repeating yourself and have been wrong every time? I know what I am, and what most others my age have done, along with every age I've been, as , unlike you, I've been in that game all my life. Everyone ages and loses what they're capable of eventually, but they don't lose what they did, or are still capable of.

Stop assuming, and you'll stop replying. Your 28 years of experience isn't any greater than anyone who's researched before coming here and has lived here a few years.

Some people aren't slow learners, and that's your problem. Thinking it's you that's smarter than anyone here, although you're far behind. Everyone sees your replies, if you haven't realized that. You're the one calling others dumb. Yes, some people do have a lot of knowledge in various areas. ones their passionate about and have studied, but maybe that doesn't include you so you don't understand.

I'll continue to show and gain respect here with a wai and a slight bow of my head while you continue to be subservient, as that's likely your forte anyway. Read a book once in awhile.
