Cambodia Airways adds Siem Reap-Bangkok flights

Cambodia Airways will begin flying between Siem Reap and Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport on 15 September 2026, adding a direct link between Cambodia's main Angkor tourism gateway and Thailand.

The airline plans to operate the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI)-Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) service five times a week using ATR 72 turboprop aircraft.

For foreigners living in Thailand, as well as tourists and regular cross-border travellers, the route will provide another direct air option for visits to Siem Reap and the Angkor temple complex. It may also make it easier to combine trips to Bangkok and Cambodia without travelling via Phnom Penh.

Five weekly flights to Suvarnabhumi

The new service will use Bangkok's main international airport rather than Don Mueang, which could be useful for travellers connecting with other international flights at Suvarnabhumi.

The ATR 72 is a regional turboprop aircraft commonly used on shorter routes. Cambodia Airways has not announced flight timings or fares in the information released about the new route.

Cambodia Airways expands Thailand network

Cambodia Airways already operates a route between Phnom Penh Techo International Airport and Bangkok. The Siem Reap service will therefore extend the carrier's Thailand network beyond the Cambodian capital.

Siem Reap is best known internationally as the gateway to the Angkor archaeological complex, a World Heritage site and one of Cambodia's biggest visitor draws. The additional Bangkok connection is expected to improve travel convenience for tourists moving between the two countries.

The airline is also planning two further international services from Siem Reap during September 2026, linking the Cambodian city with Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in Vietnam.

Those routes would give travellers based in Thailand more options for multi-country journeys across Cambodia and Vietnam, although onward travel arrangements and entry requirements will remain separate for each country.
