Chonburi police detained eight people during raids at six locations in Huay Yai, Bang Lamung, on 16 August 2026. Officers reported finding a BB gun, an unspecified quantity of 9mm ammunition and crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
About 100 officers from Provincial Police Region 2, Chonburi Provincial Police and Huay Yai Police Station assembled outside Huay Yai Police Station before the operation. The sweep was led by Pol Col Pasakorn Praijit, superintendent of the Chonburi Provincial Police investigation division, and Pol Col Warawut Nittayawan, superintendent of Huay Yai Police Station.
Six locations raided
Police divided into teams to inspect six targets in Huay Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province.
Two people were detained on outstanding warrants, police said. A further person was arrested for allegedly possessing an imitation firearm, described as a BB gun, together with 9mm ammunition.
One person was detained for alleged possession of ice, while four others were found to have used illegal drugs. The eight people were taken to investigators for legal proceedings.

The operation followed instructions from Police Lieutenant General Chatchai Suresetthaphong, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 2, and Police Major General Phongphan Wongmanithet, commander of Chonburi Provincial Police.
Focus on safety in Huay Yai
Police said the campaign was intended to suppress crime, check people identified as targets and strengthen security for residents, tourists and business people living, visiting or operating in the area.
Police said they would continue crime-prevention and suppression measures in the area to improve public confidence and protect residents and tourists.
