JAS Secures World Cup 2026 Rights in Thailand

JAS has confirmed that it has secured the broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Thailand, ending uncertainty over whether Thai viewers would be able to watch the tournament live. The announcement means football fans across the country will have access to coverage of the finals, which will be hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico and the United States from 11 June to 19 July 2026.

The confirmation came on 10 June after reports that negotiations had reached a conclusion. Earlier discussions had centred on FIFA’s reported asking price of around US$40 million, for the broadcasting rights. Until now, Thailand had remained the last country in ASEAN yet to secure rights for the tournament.

According to reports, the agreement was finalised on 10 June, although some administrative details were still being completed ahead of a formal announcement. Company representatives indicated that a full press conference would be held on 11 June to officially present details of the acquisition.

Further confirmation came from Pitchaya Photharamik, the largest shareholder of Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS). Posting on his personal Facebook account, he wrote: “Thailand can watch the World Cup now,” signalling that an agreement with FIFA had been reached.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 national teams. The competition will include 104 matches, from the opening stage through to the final. The expanded tournament will take place across host venues in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The development is expected to be welcomed by football supporters in Thailand, who had been waiting for clarity on broadcasting arrangements. The lack of a confirmed rights holder had generated concern that viewers could miss live coverage of the world’s biggest football tournament.

Amarin reported that JAS is scheduled to hold an official press conference at 3pm on Thursday, 11 June, where further details regarding the broadcasting agreement and coverage plans are expected to be announced. The event is anticipated to provide confirmation of the remaining arrangements surrounding the rights deal.

Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS) and Mono Next Public Company Limited (MONO) have officially announced details of their FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcasting package for Thailand. Fans will be able to watch all 104 matches through the Monomax platform after JAS secured exclusive Thai broadcast rights for the tournament, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The announcement follows JAS’s successful acquisition of the rights to FIFA World Cup 2026. The company said the deal builds on its growing portfolio of major sports properties, including the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup, Volleyball World and UEFA EURO tournaments. JAS stated that the agreement strengthens its ambition to become a regional Sports and Entertainment Platform.

Under the package, Thai viewers can subscribe to the Monomax Sports Premium service for 5,999 baht a year. The package allows viewing on two screens and works out at approximately 500 baht per month. A 0% instalment payment option of up to 10 months will also be available.

According to Dr Soraj Asavaprapha, Chief Executive Officer of JAS, Thai audiences will receive one of the most extensive free-to-air World Cup viewing opportunities in the country’s history. He said more than 40 matches, including the opening match and the final, will be broadcast free-to-air on MONOMAX SPORTS, while all 104 matches will be available on Monomax.

Dr Soraj said, “Thai people will be able to watch the World Cup free more than ever before because the World Cup should not be something that Thai people miss. This is not only the purchase of sports rights but the delivery of the world’s biggest sporting event to Thai audiences so they can watch alongside billions of people around the world.”

Amarin reported that he added that the company aims to provide high-quality sports content while building a strong business ecosystem through global content and advanced technology, allowing fans across Thailand to access major international sporting events.

The FIFA agreement extends beyond the 2026 tournament. JAS said its strategic relationship with FIFA runs through to 2030 and includes rights to FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, FIFA World Cup 2030 and other FIFA competitions.

The rights package purchased from FIFA is valued at US$70 million. JAS said further details regarding match coverage and viewing arrangements will be announced through the Monomax platform and MONOMAX SPORTS.

If you only want to watch the World Cup, Bht 5999 works out at Bht 57.69 per game. Or alternatively, about Bht 1000 per week for the six weeks of the tournament.

Would I be able to watch different games on the two screens?

What would a VPN cost, so you can watch on almost any other channel than Thailand.

After previous WCs being on Thai free channels, I'm amazed I haven't read about any complaints from the Thai public as to why only available on Monomax at an extortionate price for your average Thai.

On the last day of last season, we signed up again for MONOMAX for this season (early bird offer), but for 2 screens.

Turned on MONOMAX just now and we have WC games live and highlights WITHOUT paying anything extra.

That 5,999 also includes the entire 2026/27 Premier League season (all teams, all games), every FA Cup match next season, Euro games and more.

You can watch two games on two devices, although with the WC there is only ever one game on at a time with the exception of the last group games.

We decided to get the two screens version of MONOMAX for this season so I could watch City's midweek 2 or 3am kickoff games on tv downstairs and the wife watch on her phone in bed (we could wake up in the morning after the game and watch the rerun but habit means we watch live). However now my sons at Uni want to make use of watching the 2nd screen, so the wife will have to get up.😁
