Muslims in Bangkok Protest Over Quran Remarks by Transwoman

I have worked with a fair few Muslim academics, admittedly not so devout. In general, the Muslims in Thailand and Buddhists get along fine. Nobody here minds the hair covering. I see Muslims out and about and nobody gives them a second glance.

Islam is totally intolerant and controls people using the fear of reprisals for not complying with its misogynistic and conservative rules. That's how Islam spreads.

I can make public comments saying the whole story about Jesus being the son of God is ridiculous and I don't need to be afraid of the Christians but draw a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed and the Muslims will kill you.

It's important to show respect for the Quran. Charlie Hebdo overstepped their boundaries.

The incident sparked debate online, with many criticizing the forced acts and questioning the response to Lor's alleged actions. Debate centred around issues of personal rights, gender identity discrimination, and the balance between religious respect and freedom of expression.

Authorities have not yet disclosed any plans for legal action against those involved in the confrontation or related to the original livestream.
