Police investigating the disappearance of a foreign man in floodwater near Pattaya have searched a rented house believed to have been used by three South Korean, but found nobody inside.
The property, about one kilometre from the canal where the foreign men was swept away, contained wet clothing, three new computer monitors and other household items. However, police said no CPUs, servers or memory units were found.
Search continues after canal incident
The three men had been walking through floodwater when they fell into Khlong Ta Yai in Soi Noen Phlap Wan, Moo 5, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri.
One man was swept away and remains missing. His two companions survived and walked away from the area, prompting police efforts to trace them and establish the missing man's identity.
On September 25, 2026, Nong Prue Police Station superintendent Pol Col Nattaphon Phongsuksakun led investigation and patrol officers to house number 73/53 in Soi Phatthanakan 2, Nong Prue.
Police had received information that the house was being used by a group of South Koreans.
Wet clothes and computer equipment seized
Inside the house, officers found everyday belongings, clothing and three computer monitors in new condition. They also found two sets of rain-soaked clothes which appeared similar to clothing worn by the two surviving men in CCTV images from the time of the incident.
No-one was found at the house. Police seized the items for further examination.
The landlord told officers that three South Korean tourists had signed a one-year rental agreement and moved into the property on September 12, 2026. The landlord did not know whether they were the same group involved in the canal incident, or where they had gone.
Police have not confirmed whether the computer equipment is connected to any illegal activity. They said checks are continuing because the CPU, server and memory components were missing.
Police seek the missing man and his companions
Investigators are continuing to trace all three South Koreans, both to identify the man swept away and to establish whether the two men seen leaving the scene were his companions.
