As per the thread title can spouse of foreign retiree (already on 12 month extension of stay) and who is in Thailand on tourist visa convert to Non Imm O in country with a view to also getting 1 year extension of stay based on dependence.  Or do they have to leave and get a non O outside and then return to do the extension.

It is not possible to do a conversion at immigration to get a 90 day non immigrant visa entry at immigration for a dependent of a person on an extension based upon retirement.

The will have to apply for a single entry non-o visa at a nearby embassy or consulate to apply for the extension.
