File photo : Fortune teller, ET, on the wheel chair.

A famous Myanmar fortune-teller known as “ET”, whose clients included former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has died at the age of 58.

The cause of her death is not clear.

She was born Swe Swe Win and was given the nickname ET because of her resemblance to the character in the American film “ET the Extra-Terrestrial”.

Because she was physically disabled, blind and had a speech impediment, her sister, Thi Thi Win, translated her predictions.

Her famous clients also included General Than Shwe, the former Myanmar strongman politician who was the head of state of Burma from 1992 to 2011 as chairman of the State Peace and Development Council.

She reportedly earned about Bt30,000 per session, which lasted about 15 minutes.

Beat me to it....

She didn't seem to be able to predict YL or her brothers, so the relationship was terminated. Yup, also not predicted.

I wouldn't get out of bed for a pittance like that ! :cheesy:

Call me cynical but what's the chance of sister being the fortune teller?

Better than being nicknamed "Lucky" I guess.

The hub of quackery..

Not wanting to lose the business,I expect the sister,to now report

Ask her sister, she might know.

After hours of interrogation she died giving up the facts to every political crime committed up until now and for the next 50 years.

Generals stuck only with tea leaves and bones now.

Named 'ET' after the movie character? How endearingly, insultingly....Thai.

All rubbish, another form of fraud that people fall for because they are only told what they want to hear, Oops 30,000 please

nearly forgot to charge you.

They wanted to call her "And", but thought that it sounded better in French.

The country is going to be rudderless for a few weeks until they can find another fortune teller to dictate policy.

ET gets a mention, the frog-toucher denies having visited her though.

No harm but really stupid, right. Thaksin Shinawatra, the world's smartest businessman, sought her advice on several occasions.

2000 baht a minute!  She & Thaksin were well-suited.
