Man’s charred body found in fire-gutted Pathum Thani house, police question son-in-law

A 56-year-old prawn farmer died late Sunday night when a fire engulfed his house in Pathum Thani’s Nong Sua district.

Police took Long Pholek’a son-in-law for questioning after a pool of blood and a broken liquor bottle were found outside the house in Moo 3 village in tambon Nong Sam Wang.

Captain Nipon Butrsanga, of Nong Sua Police station, learned about the fire at around 10.30pm. When police and firefighters arrived at the house, the blaze had been put out by the son-in-law and the charred body of Long was found in the house.

The son-in-law, whose real name was withheld, said he used a water pump to extinguish the fire. The body was sent to the provincial hospital for the autopsy.
