NAKHON PATHOM: -- Authorities raided three temples in Nakhon Chaisri district of Nakhon Pathom yesterday.

In the first two a total of 24 monks tested negative for drugs but in the third temple - Wat Bor Takuphuttaram - the authorities hit pay dirt.

Sneaking off round the back of the crematorium was Phra Suksom Phumpetch, 36. Soon nabbed, he was found to be carrying a host of drug taking paraphernalia in his robes.

He said he had been doing "ice" that he got from local teens for 200-300 baht a time.

Also at the same place of worship the cops and soldiers rounded up Phra Nathawut Sukkhae, 22, who tested positive with a purple urine test.

He said he did some ganga many days ago.

Both monks were taken to see the abbot and subsequently defrocked ahead of prosecution.

Not a very smart 'monk'.

The smart ones sell it to the teens as well !

More Monks behaving badly,

regards worgeordie,

Are there any drug free, honest monks left here?

Are these the real monks or just the local peoples sons that come to be a monk for short time??
(so their parent have reservation in heaven on first row)

So many young monks are unfortunately short timers, just the way it is

with so many of them. Lots of them were Punks before becoming monks,

to make their parents or police happy.

Geezer

Here we go again, the brownies are at it in the name of religion
