MOPH continues to develop five-star subdistrict health promotion hospitals nationwide by 5 years

BANGKOK, 13 September 2017 (NNT) - Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Sophon Mekthon has said that the ministry has developed 9,826 health centers nationwide to later become sub-district health promotion hospitals.

The MOPH is ready to improve the quality of health services and the service process to pass the quality criteria in order to grant a five-star symbol to all health services within five years.

Primary care units will be a key mechanism to help Thailand reach its goal of ensuring the public's good health, because these units will focus more on promoting prevention rather than treatment, and will help create a society that understands the importance of healthiness.

The qualified sub-district health promotion hospitals ensure they have good management, good coordination, good personnel, good service and help the public remain healthy.
