Gay icon?......never heard of him,  what does he do to make him an 'icon'?

And I doubt he's ever heard of you. The difference is you can look him up on Wikipedia or simply by Googling his name.

In any case, he's irrelevant to this topic. He's simply a super troll out for fame and fortune.

On an international level such as the U.N., LGBT civil rights issues are life and death matters in many nations. So any weakening of leadership from the U.N. on this is unfortunate news.

Some background on some more positive leadership on this at the U.N. --

Being gay is not a choice as much as being straight is not a choice.

From an outsider's point of view, I would say that being homosexual is not a choice, but being gay is.

They are the same thing.

To confirm how silly your point is:

From an outsider's point of view, I would say that being heterosexual is not a choice, but being straight is.

No, she's not.

She was FLOTUS, then a U.S.senator, and then Secretary of State.

Also, that disgusting person Milo has nothing to do with this topic.

HILLARY CLINTON, that gave that HISTORIC speech about gay rights being human rights at the U.N. definitely is.

Trying to hijack this thread to be about that sick troll Milo is just wrong on so many levels.

You can fool some of the people all the time, it seems.

Power-crazy Hillary is clearly hoping to enlist the support the growing gay and transgender communities for her next crack at the Presidency. Mercifully, she is about as popular with the US electorate as Messrs. Trump and Yiannopulous are with you - and hopefully, for all our sakes, will remain so.

Oh, and when it comes to hijacking the discussion, I make your contribution (so far) seven posts and mine four.

trump has shown no leadership on such international LGBT civil rights issues. At home to continues to pick antigay judges and other assorted government officials.

He can't be the world leader on everything. However, on the domestic front he has made appointments that have brought him criticism from both pro and anti-gay factions. His transitional team includes a number of gay men and women.

Gregory Angelo, president of Log Cabin Republicans — a leading group of conservatives fighting for LGBT inclusion in the Republican party — recently concluded that Trump is "trying to unify what have been historically polarized and historically oppositional forces not just within the GOP,  but within American culture.”

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Don't even try to sell trump as being pro LGBT civil rights. Nobody that has been paying attention believes that. A few right wing gay Uncle Toms does not cut it anymore than picking absurdly unqualified sleepy Ben Carson for Hud cuts it for black people.

"Yet, the nomination of several key officials, who have disparaged the L.G.B.T. community and sought to curtail the rights of its members, has exposed the narrative that Mr. Trump would be a champion of gay and transgender people as a fallacy. “It has been a catastrophe,” said Mara Keisling, the executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality and a leading strategist behind a string of legal and policy victories the community achieved during the Obama administration. “Every twitch we’ve seen from the administration has been anti-L.G.B.T.”"

A gay Uncle Tom? A mind-boggling mixed metaphor. What on earth does it mean?
