Thai Government National Health Care-whats covered?

Featured Replies

Thailand has a national health care program for any Thai national who has a full time job..  What does it cover?  IE: If the covered person has Heart or Kidney disease, something serious like that, is that fully covered?  Any experiences or knowledge would be appreciated..

There are 3 separate parts to the national health cover. It sounds like you are referring to the Social Security system which covers most people employed in the formal private sector.

If so, under this scheme, all care is covered except for certain drugs not on the Ministry of Public Health's drug list and a few unusual tests.

Except in emergency, care must be obtained at the hospital the person is registered at, or other facility that the registered hospital refers them to.
