October 1, 20178 yr Have never trusted leaving it to the airport. Always get it earlier in case of hiccup & then having to make a decision do I go or not?
October 1, 20178 yr It usually only takes about 10 minutes. However, you would be wise to allow 30 minutes, just in case there are an unusually large number of applicants.

Thank you. 10 ish to the airport or 10 ish to the re-entry desk? Either way, you're not leaving yourself much room for error or delays I'd be checked in at LEAST a full two hours ahead of an 11:05 departure if I was wanting to do a re-entry permit. There is no Fast Track in the immigration section where the re-entry desk is (correct me if I am wrong with that one)

Thank you. My last trip, to Hanoi, took 10 minutes, Even did the photo & form for me. Speak Thai politely, the officer is a bit cranky. Edited October 1, 20178 yr by jgarbo
October 1, 20178 yr I would say plus minus 15-20 mints max but ofcourse depends how busy that desk is on that day and time. My advice keep at least 40-45 mints in hand
October 1, 20178 yr I wonder if one can still speed things up by having an official help you fill in the paperwork for an unofficial fee!
October 1, 20178 yr I have a multi-entry NON-O visa based on Thai spouse. Do I need to get a re-entry permit when I leave the country with the intention of coming back shortly on the same visa?

If at the time you enter Thailand, you have an unexpired multiple entry visa, there is no need for a reentry permit to keep your previous permission to stay intact. You will receive a new permission to stay when you reenter. (I am ignoring, here, the rare case where someone decides to get a one-year extension of the permission to stay during an earlier stay, and wants to keep that rather than a new 90-day entry. In that case, a reentry permit would be needed.)

If you return before/on the "ENTER BEFORE" date on the visa sticker/stamp you are fine. No re-entry permit needed in this case.
