Saudi ladyboy reported missing in Bangkok

Featured Replies

A Saudi transgender visitor, has been reported missing in Bangkok after friends lost contact with them on July 29.

The Bangkok Community Help Foundation issued an appeal on Facebook on August 5, asking the public to share the notice and provide information that could help locate the missing person.

Nasser Alzahrani is the name shown on their passport and other government identification documents. They arrived in Thailand on May 29 and have been staying in Bangkok on a tourist visa for more than two months.

Last contact in Khlong Toei

According to the foundation, Alzahrani had moved between Airbnb accommodation during their stay, changing properties about every five days.

Their last known location was in Bangkok's Khlong Toei district. The foundation said Alzahrani's last contact with friends was at 2.19pm on July 29.

Since then, all communication has stopped. Both mobile phones have reportedly been switched off, and all WhatsApp numbers connected to Alzahrani have become unreachable.

Friends have tried unsuccessfully to make contact since that date, the foundation said. Their friends and family are deeply concerned about their welfare.

No further details about the circumstances of the disappearance were included in the foundation's appeal.

Public asked to share information

Anyone who has seen Alzahrani, knows their whereabouts, or has been in touch with them recently is urged to contact the Bangkok Community Help Foundation.

Agree. Makes sense based on the fact that transgender woman arrived in Thailand on May 29 and moved between Airbnbs every five days. If she was on a 60 day visa, which is now expired, then her disappearance would be based on choice.

Third case in a week of searching for someone who has simply turned off their phone?

Looks like she/he is doing a runner. Should that be correct, then the last thing needed would be any media. On the other hand, the Thai authorities would like to seen doing their job.

While there are valid reasons, already mentioned in this thread, for her disappearance by choice. I still think there is a valid concern by her friends for filing a missing person's report. Most probably her friends know more about the people she hanged out with and the inherent risks of foul play.

Sometimes I wake up and think that it's so easy and peaceful being content with who I am when I look in the mirror. I can only imagine how much more difficult life becomes when you don't have that feeling of contentment, and you want to be somebody else or another gender.

I would imagine all of that gets compounded even more when you're a Saudi national having to deal with all their ridiculous nonsense and hypocritical BS.

He/she may have found a new rich (rare) AN member and be on holiday on one of the tropical islands sipping a Mai Tai.

Being a Saudi ladyboy surely has a short shelf-life unless you intentionally disappear yourself or live extremely low profile under the radar... or you'll get disappeared, and it's not as if you can just hop on a plane back to your home country. Also looks like she and her friends could easily have attracted far too much attention to themselves too.

What you don’t understand is that this guys name and photo has been outed and will now be more difficult for him to hide. That is the real story here.

Well the friends have raised the alarm, so the police do really have to respond.

if a deliberate attempt to “disappear “ she should have alerted her friends not to look for her

Your travel partner disappears for over a week, that alone is concerning. BUT, add 'gay dude from Saudi', and not so concerning, and apparently not that close to travel companion.

If simply decide to not return. Does give travel partner plausible deniablity, as not returning might be illegal in Saudi Arabia.

Hope he found a good 'sponsor', and has a long asylum here. Imaging being illegal to get your freak on ... I wouldn't return either.

Or maybe they just want to live in peace without be persecuted. Yeah, much more likely than the tired “get your freak on” trope.

The next poster that wants to grammar check the news team, will be getting a time out. Using “them” is a gender neutral term, commonly used to refer to a single person.

Travel partner is obviously NOT staying, since reporting him missing.

Is it even legal for saudis to transition?

Apparently, like prostitution on the ground vs. in the law books in Thailand, LGBTQ is well-tolerated in SA. I know a Thai trans from a wealthy family who claims to like vacationing on the Red Sea beaches in SA. Beautiful, not touristy and she claims to be treated very well, both by Arabs and hospitality people, almost all non-Arab.

A transgender from Saudi Arabia the last thing they would have wanted is their name plastered all over the Media won't be going back to Saudi Arabia now 😱

New meaning to leaving the house with a close shave ...

but that 5 o'clock stubble must be diabolical on her ....

I hope some find her and at this time keep her.

In an Israeli enclave on one of the islands or in Pai. It could be a love story for the ages. Orthodox Jew falls head over heels for Arabian tranny. Which faith would wed them?

Got a strong feeling some German swept her off her feet and they're in their beachfront Phuket love nest.

I don't suppose the Saudi government will send any officials to search for her.

Things didn't go well when they sent officials to search for the blue diamond.
