Man, two pet dogs killed by current leakage

By The Nation

A 63-year-old man and his two pet dogs were electrocuted when the dogs urinated on a lamp post in front of a temple in Suphan Buri province.

The incident happened at 7pm on Tuesday evening in front of Lad Tan Temple in Tambon Don Masang, Muang district.

Passers-by found the body of Boonlert Khamthawai, 63, who was still conscious, and the lifeless bodies of his two dogs.

Rescuers tried to resuscitate Boonlert but he died at a hospital.

Local residents said Boonlert and his dogs walked at the spot every evening but the ground was wet following rains earlier in the day and the two dogs might have been hit by current leakage while the man was also fatally injured while trying to save them.

"..........hit by current leakage..."

Poor guy, and his dogs.    I imagine there's quite a bit of 'current leakage ' going on in this country.

Sad ! and totally avoidable as with many of the electrical accidents !!!!

Why didn't the circuit breaker open ? or the fuse blow in cases like this?

Stupid Farang, we don't use no stinking fuse or breaker...

Because live wires were probably touching the lamp post inside and as you said ,"Wotsa circuit breaker"?

Or the lamp was removed and the wires just left there in the open, i can show you 10 examples of that in our new moobaan...i even saw one poofing with a lightning and thunder one night when we passed it.

Even in a 6* resort in Pattaya (where all thai soapstars like to stay) i saw a connectorbox right next to a waterfall which was 1 meter away from our design beachbed...the box was broken so they put a stone against it for protection, like that's going to help during rain.

Thai don't give a duck about safety, even not in the most expensive places.

Sad story. RIP to both to the man and his dogs.

Can we please go back to a comma separating the third to last and second to last item in a list of more than two? This comma in the place of an and business is maddening.

I had to read the headline a couple of times for it to make sense.

"Man and two pet dogs killed by current leakage" reads so much better.
