More good news! Bent lawyer sent down for six years for ripping off handicapped girl

A bent Thai lawyer, who ripped off a 14 year old wheelchair bound girl after a road accident, has been sent down for six years.

 

The sentence handed down at a Taling Chan court is to start immediately.

 

Phisit Sammalert, 60, conned the girl and made off with her 5 million in compensation following the accident in Surat Thani several years ago.

 

The case came to light earlier this year when reporters found the girl and her mother selling trinkets at a temple in an effort to make ends meet.

 

Phisit admitted the charges.

 

Two other female defendants in the case - Pornpanee Chukaew and Thitapha Sawatdee - deny falsifying documents and their fates will be decided later.

I am very happy to hear that this piece of filth is going to prison. I will be much happier though when I hear his assets have been siezed to give the girl and her mum the compensation they are due. Then and only then will justice truly have been served.

but what about the 5million compensation.

Ok well that's a start. Now what about compensation for the poor girl?

Agree, but I have concerns the next report will say he's been bailed to appeal, which could take years. 

Sadly enough non-violent criminals are often released when it is some of the royalty's birthdays.

 

I hope it won't happen this time!

Honesty doesnt have anything to do with it. In Thailand if you plead guilty your sentence is automatically halved.

Now, that is a 'criminal' lawyer. Plenty more still left though! 

Good job to the Royal Thai police for catching a coldhearted scumbag. Make him clean the beach trash in Pattaya!

Best news i have heard all week,just hope he has to serve the full term,

and is put on none stop toilet duty,and catches a fatal disease and dies 

after a few years of terrible suffering,you can tell i dont like lawyers,as

one in the UK,stole 125K off me,total 1.3  million off his other clients,

he was sentenced to 5 years.so now i dont trust any of the scum.

As he admitted it the sentence will be halved should he lose his numerous appeals.

 

Still- its nice to think of a lawyer in prison.
