Can anybody tell me a simple free program to use to transfer my music and a couple movies to my Ipad from my desktop PC from time to time. 

Is itunes the best way to go or do I have to pay for everything???

You don't need to pay to move your own downloaded movie collection to the iPad, not even if you use iTunes The only issue may be that with some files you might need a standalone video player/app.

Firstly go to app store and download an app for a music player and one for a media

player.

install itunes on your PC and open it, connect ipad to PC and click on the icon for your ipad.

Go to apps scroll down and your new apps will be there. click on app, add file and move your stuff across.

 

Get something like this from any apple reseller or online. Copy files from pc and then plug into your iPad lightning port. Play media via the san disk app, works great with loads of formats.

 

Excellent bit of kit.

 

Never need to go near iTunes, ever....
