EU Citizens on State Social Welfare "Pension" etc ; How successful with getting Allowances for ur Thai "Child" & / or "Spouse" ?

Featured Replies

Dear Fellow Thaivisa.com Posters,

I would greatly appreciate ur kindest helpful replies to the following enquiry ;

EU Citizens on Department of Social Welfare "Pension" etc from respective country of EU [ incl. UK ( still in EU ) ] ;

How successful have u been with getting Dept. of SW Allowances for ur Thai "Child" & / or "Spouse" with u all based in Thailand  ?

Our Man in the Tropics

Pardon me, but why should you be getting an allowance for a Thai child and a spouse if you don't live in the country? What country will give hard earned tax dollars, so people can spend it in Thailand.

Absolutely ridiculous question.

2 Questions from u ;

1.

Why ... ; Rhetorical Question ; And, u are wrong on "law" basis apropos of many EU countries that indeed do this.

2.

Listing of such countries would be very welcome in forthcoming replies by knowledgeable posters.

Yes, let's see. I would like to see the list of such stupid countries that do that,

I not seeking debate on the merits or demerits of such a policy ;

I just wanna know the facts 8-)

And,- if such a policy does not apply to ur own country ;

==> Even if u think it a wrongful policy,- u should not worry about it.

Thanking u,

I am not debating.... I just seriously doubt countries will be handing out child benefits to citizens that don't maintain residency. Simple as that. You are now Thailand's problem and we all know about Thailand social programs.

I sought to be as brief as possible with wording of my original post [ OP ] ;

Yet, it is very clear that I refer to allowances paid ONLY by respective EU country to their department of social welfare claimant / client,

vis.,

EU Citizens on Department of Social Welfare "Pension" etc from respective country of EU

I cannot understand why u mention ;

"You are now Thailand's problem ;

And, we all know about Thailand social programs."

Op, do you receive social welfare benefits from your country of origin?

The US for one.

Those benefits are built into the system.

There are savings to the taxpayers by having their fellow social insurance claimant receiving the payment for himself solely + the entitlements for spouse / partner & /or child whilst they IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY

Were x] "the claimant only" or y]"the claimant" + spouse / partner" or z]"the claimant + spouse / partner + child" BACK IN THE ISSUING COUNTRY ;

==> much more obligations by the country to pay for.

.........................................................................................

EXAMPLES OF LIKELY ENTITLEMENTS FROM THE STATE THAT ARE "FREE" TO THE CLAIMANT

Housing

Flat

Apartment

Condominium ; Maybe

House ; How much does such a house cost ? ; Euro 40,000 -- Euro 250,000 perhaps

Local General Practitioner Doctor Care ;

Constituent for bulk of patients paid for by agreement between State & Doctor as patients to Doctor's Clinic

Extra charges by Doctor for out-calls to patient

Hospital Care ;

Accident & Emergency Services ; Outpatient Services incl. cancer treatment ; Inpatient Treatment cancer treatment, heart surgery, ; Health Maintenance Services e.g.s physiotherapy, diabetes intervention,

Public Transport Travel Pass

Car Purchase Subsidy for claimant with listed disability

inter alia

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I should not have to explain as I have done just now  ;

Because, the people who will be able to give the required information would :

a]

know & appreciate the justifiability, or at least legality, of receiving all of above IN ISSUING COUNTRY

&

b]

agree that the issuing country saves massively by having the claimant receiving only the claimant's own payment & / or allowance for spouse / partner & / or allowance for child WHEN claimant is claiming when they NOT IN ISSUING COUNTRY

But, the brief outlining here should help to educate & calm down any reader getting a touch excited.

No disrespect is intended, nor given, to any of "the amazed" who replied thus far.

Again, please, I only looking for the facts
