Lampang seeks to quickly drain flooded homes and rescue soaked crops

Lampang deputy governor Surapol Burintrapan joined a meeting on Monday of flood-related agencies in Thoen district as they sought ways to quickly drain floodwaters that have affected 500 homes in six villages of Tambon Tha Raed and has now stabilised at about 50-cm in depth.

Police officer accused of helping Yingluck flee the country escapes act of misbehaviour

A senior police officer who was earlier accused of helping Ms Yingluck Shinawatra to flee the country has escaped act of misbehaviour charge after DNA laboratory test produced no DNA samples of her in the car used in the escape.

PHUKET: Now that the inevitable has started to occur and the drownings without professional lifeguards on Phuket’s beaches have started, it is time for the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO, or OrBorJor) to quit posturing and get down to business. The game is over. It is time to throw in the towel on managing Phuket’s lifeguard situation, and let the municipalities take over.

Thailand gets aviation safety upgrade, airline shares jump

‘No more dumping in my klong,’ says Chalong Mayor

PHUKET:-- Chalong Mayor Samran Jindapol has urged local residents to stop dumping garbage in the small estuaries that feed into the well-known Klong Mudong canal on Phuket’s east coast, fouling the water and blocking the streams from emptying into Chalong Bay.

Old Thaksin cases could be revived retroactively, says Deputy PM

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam reiterated on Monday that he believes that the legal procedures against political office holders in criminal cases law could be applied retroactively against alleged wrongdoers, opening up the possibility that this could be applied to the outstanding cases against former PM Thaksin Shinawatra.
