The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index surged 0.87 per cent to close at 1,706.95 points on Tuesday, after Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said earlier in the day that the general election would take place in November next year.

Speaking after chairing a meeting of the National Council for Peace and Order, the premier also said the government would announce the precise election date in June.

That is an emphatic expression that non elected government especially coup government is bad for the economic.

I though it was supposed to be 2019, not next year, which is 2018 ?

Not that I would be complaining, a year earlier would be good, if confirmed !

Edit to add, I see I am wrong, and 2018 it is  ...  excellent news, then !
