Hi,

Anyone can tell me how many days are being allowed for a Visa On Arrival in Bangkok? Am planning to stay for less than 30 days to visit my sister like a post holiday celeb. Thanks!

I suspect you qualify for 30 day entry without visa and that is 30 days.

Visa on Arrival is 15 days and you buy a visa at a special counter in the airport before you enter the immigration lines. Only a limited number of countries are eligible for this service (mostly without Thai Consulates I believe).

If I get 15 days VOA, can I extend that for, say, another 10 to 15 days? If so, do you idea on the process? or Can I just declare the period of my stay say 28 days? Will they give that duration for VOA?

You need a visa if you are from a country that requires visa on arrival stay to be here longer than 15 days. A visa obtained overseas will allow a stay of 30 days.

If you are not sure of your status please provide you passport country.

Thank you very much, got it now. Am now considering to stay not more than 15 days to avoid conflicts. In any case, I can make rebookings to change my return flights, an advantage of an "open dated ticket". I just got confuse because I got infos from friends that 30 days VOA is allowed.

Thank you very much.

familyties, most countries do get 30 days on arrival. Let us know what country's passport are you carrying and that will clear any confusion up as we can then determine if you get 15 days or 30 days :o

thanks sbk!

Am from Manila, Philippines, by the way. Planning to visit my sister working there. Try to have a taste of thai food and shopping as long as I can claim my vacation leave (45 days) from my office, hehehe...Unfortunately can't stay over 28 days, need to report to office on the 30th day of vacation to resume work otherwise I'll be kicked out.heheheh.

For Filipn-p/port holders visa is not required for a max. stay of 30 days, provided

coming for touristic purposes. Extension up to 10 days is possible.
