Being fairly lazy ( I've earned it ) I'm fond of the pre-cooked meals on offer at the Rimping supermarket in Chiang Mai. Spaghetti Bolognaise, cottage pie, ratatouille etc. etc. 2-3 minutes in the microwave and I'm ready to go.

One of the puzzles there is the pricing of food bowls. In one section they have spinach topped with cheese in a china bowl priced at 59 baht. Ideal as a lunch snack. The bowls are sturdy, and my GF accumulates them with glee. May cost 25 - 50 baht in the local markets.

In another section, there is spinach and cheese in disposable plastic bowls. As far as I can make out, the contents and quantity are identical to that of the china bowls.

Priced at 69 baht.

Apart from the obvious conclusion there are different suppliers, can anyone explain why this is so? Or is it  another example of TIT at work?
