I see the new service station in Mae Rim is still under construction but they have been busy as bees lately.  Its probably going to be the biggest station in Mae Rim once its finished.  I havent seen any signs stating when its going to be open but it cant be too far away.

Today I see Amazon Coffee, 7-11 and KFC are going to be on site.  It has a big forecourt but unsure if they are going to have an exit on the road that takes you up towards the X Centre....possibly not as its a free turn at the lights anyway.

Interesting times, although I dont know if having a KFC is moving forward or backwards!

Very greasy stuff the time I had it years ago.  Readily available local barbecued chicken is better and better for you, just one opinion.

That's tragic news, no part of CM is safe anymore I guess. That road has essentially turned into a highway and it's  so busy and dangerous I don't even like to ride my bike around there anymore.

Well yes the 107 (main Road thru Mae Rim) can be very busy at times.  Mainly when school opens/closes.  I tend to keep away from that area over those times.  However its no worse than Hang Dong Rd or even the Canal road, unfortunately the urban sprawl is moving faster North each day.

One just has to get ones wits about them when venturing into these areas...sometimes I vent at stupid drivers,  not that it changes anything.. Ive now accepted that its all part of being here in Thailand. Annoying as it can be.

Cannot remember the last time I went to KFC....certainly not my first choice of fast food.  So much better Thai food and for a lot less baht IMHO.
