B.k. Dental Clinic On Soi Buakhao

I'm contemplating going to the B.K. Dental clinic on Soi Buakhao for a check and clean. Has anyone had dentalwork done at this clinic. I believe it's fairly new.

It's very easy for a dentist to suggest treatment on perfectly good teeth, so one can't be too careful about choosing a dentist. The other option I was considering was the Pattaya-Bangkok Hospital that some members have recommended.

Whatever you do , don't go to the Bangkok Pattaya hospital. I din't know who recommeneded it, but I can assure you it's not the place to go. I'm speaking from personal experience and from a host of disgruntled patients who have written in this forum. There is at least one major law suit pending against them at the present time.

The only place I can recommend with confidence is the Dental Hospital, on Soi 49 in Bangkok. It is a wonderful and professional establishment - undoubtedly world class - and they have the top dentisists and do not cheat you. It's not cheap, but you pay for what you get. You canb jump on a bus in the morning - have your treatment and be back the same eveing - or drive as I do - they have thir own car park.

Happy teething :o

Thanks for that. There were a few recommendations for the Bangkok - Pattaya hospital on a dental thread quite recently. Thanks for the warning.

I really wouldn't like to go all the way to Bangkok if I can help it, just for a checkup...I'd be busing it and my girlfriend who will also be having a checkup gets car/bus sick...but I do need to be careful as she's got great teeth and I would hate some crooked dentist deciding that they would be a good money earner.

Cheers.

But the most cruicial part of the whole thing is the checkup. That's where they can tell you anything and you have no way of knowing whether it's true or not.

My wife had a checkup at BP. She has beautiful teeth, takes care of them and had never had any problems. They told her she needed a whole load of fiillings and she has never been the same since. This was nearly a year ago, and she still can't eat comfortably on the filled side of her mouth. We have been to several dentists to try to fix the problem but it seems like its not fixable. I could tell you many more stories about other dentists in Pattaya and more on the BPH, but won't bore you.

You're almost better off going to BKK for a checkup, and then having the work done locally.

I used Pattaya international hospital on soi 4, Dr Yongyuth is very good, get the xrays they show whats wrong, reasonable prices and good friendly service. I tried several clinics and wasnt impressed, when it gets too hard they kick you out saying go hospital!

Not to stick my foot in it but,

The Dental Center at PatBKK Hospital is NOT the same as the rest of the hospital.

I brought my GF in for some work both remedial and cosmetic and the staff were professional and curteous, the results were above par and the prices (while probably expensive compared to some local "clinic" rates) were very reasonable.

She once needed an emergency extraction and they handled her on a walk-in basis as if she had a prior appointment. No waiting and done quickly.

I sat in on her free check up (they used to do this on Sundays, check if they still offer it) and watched the doc and his assist carefully. They proceeded to inform me that she needed some work done and performed a routine cleaning, dental x-rays, and then some reccommended dental bonding of two chipped teeth of hers. The cosmetic work was done with great care and apparent skill and the results were beautiful.

She spent at least an hour in the chair and the bill was a little over two thousand Baht.

I know in the states it would have been closer to ten or twelve thousand...

Yes the pain from the work on your teeth is only exceeded by the shock from the bill, others talk of a lot higher bills, PIH seems to be a bit cheaper but its old style stuff there, no fancy computers showing you your teeth its old time xrays.
