Pathum Thani governor assures no flood in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani

The Pathum Thani provincial governor assured today (Oct 27) that Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Bangkok will not be affected despite the fact that 2,800 cubic metres/second of water are being drained into his province through the sluice gate in Bang Sai district of Ayutthaya.

Mr Phinit Boonlert said that even if the amount of water drained into Pathum Thani from Ayutthaya was 100 cubic metres/second more than the amount of water being discharged from the Chao Phraya dam, it will not lead to flooding in Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi or Bangkok.

However, he noted that there are three factors which would cause flooding in the three provinces. Firstly, rainfall which can be ruled out because there will be less rain from now as forecast by the Weatherman; secondly, water runoffs from the North which are less threatening now as they are decreasing; and thirdly, high tide which remains the only main factor that may cause flooding, especially during November.

Surely you can use last year's....

Ah, sandbags are like the blankets handed out every year up-north. They tend to get used for other things. New cold snap, no have blanket.

Actually the bags decompose quite rapidly once filled so they get used up. Besides Wifey isn't going to turn down two free loads of sand to help with our rather wet clay garden soil.

"In Nonthaburi, meanwhile, the possibility of flooding has prompted the municipality of Nakhon Nonthaburi to cancel its annual Loy Krathong festivities and traditional boat races, VoiceTV reported on Thursday.

The popular event usually held at Nonthaburi Pier was cancelled amid fears the Chao Phraya River would rise further, the municipality’s Facebook page advised on Wednesday.

The pier is already awash with downstream current and the seasonal inflow of seawater, and pumps have been installed in preparation for worse."

No flooding/Possible flooding/Preparing for the worse.......Unnnnnnnnnbelievable Thailand

For some reason I'm getting the urge to order more sandbags, can't think why :whistling:

For some reason I'm getting the urge to throw up over the continuing denials about anything and everything!  :coffee1:

Noah, the worlds greatest financier. Floated company when the rest of the "world" was in liquidation.

Don't worry, did you buy shares in his company? :whistling:
