SI SA KET police chief Pol Maj-General Suradech Dentham has instructed police to file two additional charges of premeditated murder and concealing a body against former Army captain Supachai Paso, 30, today in relation to the disappearance of Juthaporn Oun-on, 37, a Si Sa Ket-based local administration organisation official.

Supachai was dismissed from the military after he was charged with illegal detention, stealing Juthaporn’s car, using fake documents and destroying another person’s documents leading to damages. He has denied all of the charges.

The announcement of new charges followed a confirmation by the morgue of Bangkok’s Police General Hospital that a human skull, bones and other items found last week near the 2305th paramilitary ranger base in Ubon Ratchathani’s Nam Yeun district belonged to Juthaporn, who had been missing since July 3.

Meanwhile, Juthaporn’s parents and relatives prepared to collect her remains from authorities yesterday and to host a religious rite for her funeral at Juthaporn’s home, which is still under construction in Tambon Sao Thong Chai in Kantharalak district.

Her elder sister, Maipong Oun-on, said the family trusted police to investigate the case and punish Supachai, whom the family has accused of being involved in Juthaporn’s disappearance and murder.

The human remains were found by relatives and officials in the “Emerald Triangle” forest area near the borders of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in Nam Yeun district, which is adjacent to the Phu Jongnayoy National Park where her mobile phone signal was last detected.

Police have investigated possible motives for her disappearance, including a dispute over a debt and her relationship with Supachai, who was linked to the case following police’s discovery on August 8 of Juthaporn’s Toyota Vios, which had been sold three times in the interim, at an Ubon Ratchathani garage.

An inquiry into the sales and testimony that Juthaporn had told her friend she would collect a debt from an Ubon Ratchathani-based Army officer on the day she disappeared led to the questioning of Supachai.

The former Army captain Supachai Paso went to hear three additional charges brought by Si Sa Ket police on Monday in relation to the death of Juthaporn Oun-on, a Si Sa Ket-based local administration organisation official whose body was found earlier this month.

The Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Police General Hospital previously confirmed that a human skull, bones and other items found last week near the 2305th paramilitary ranger base in Ubon Ratchathani’s Nam Yeun district belonged to 37-year-old Juthaporn, who had been missing since July 3.

The new charges include premeditated murder, illegal detention leading to another person’s death, and concealing or destroying a body.

Si Sa Ket police chief Pol Maj-General Suradech Dentham said Supachai would be brought to the Kantharalak Provincial Court, which would decide on his bail.

Supachai, 30, who has been dismissed from the military, had already been charged with illegal detention, stealing Juthaporn’s car, using fake documents and destroying another person’s documents leading to damages.

Police have investigated possible motives for Juthaporn’s disappearance, including a dispute over a debt and her relationship with Supachai, who was linked to the case following police’s discovery on August 8 of her Toyota Vios, which had been sold three times in the interim, at an Ubon Ratchathani garage.

Meanwhile, police spokesman Pol Colonel Krissana Pattanacharoen told reporters in Bangkok that police would ask the court not to grant bail to Supachai because he had been charged with three additional serious charges that could potentially carry the death sentence.

He added that police had gathered evidence and proceeded with the case investigation transparently to ensure justice for all sides.

Can only be one side that is supposed to get justice in this case.

Bail in this case should not be an option !

You are right How can you consider bail for these charges? But then again the Thai lady doc was granted bail when she was sentenced to death. Would not be surprised if he was granted bail then on first bus out of Thailand. This whole thing stinks She was married but hanging around this guy There was a debt what was that for?

She was a married woman and we have not yet been told what her relationship was with this army captain.

Also her skeletal remains in the photo are not complete. Hate to think how she was killed. Still a terrible ending for such a beautiful young woman.

I am not 100% sure but seems that somewhere in this article or another previously...... That I read that she was trying to collect a bad debt from the Army guy - seems that was the type work she did or maybe a bad debt with her employer...... Not anything personal 'between them' as I recall (if that was what you were thinking)......

I have followed the article for a few months but can't recall all the details..........
