A 46-year-old Czech tourist was yesterday charged for sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in Siem Reap province. Chea Heng, deputy chief of Siem Reap’s anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection unit, said the suspect was accused of sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 15.

 

“The provincial court’s investigative judge sent him to prison,” Mr Heng said. “He faces five to 10 years if convicted.” Mr Heng said the suspect was arrested at his rented house in Siem Reap city on Sunday.

 

Police seized girls’ clothes, toys, condoms, a digital camera and a laptop, as well as other related materials, in the raid. According to police investigators, the suspect frequently visited the girl’s family last year and asked to adopt the girl.
