webfact
No policy for Grade 1 children to pass a test: Obec By Thai PBS The Office of Basic Education Commission does not have a policy to require children to pass a test in order to study in Prathom Sueksa 1 (Grade 1) class of schools under its jurisdiction, Obec secretary-general Boonrak Yodphet said on Thursday (Nov 9). Mr Boonrak said this in responding to a report that an independent committee for education reforms has proposed that the requirement for children to pass a test to study in Prathom Sueksa 1 (Grade 1) should be lifted. He said in fact the Education Ministry and Obec do not have such a policy because in principle all children are eligible to be enrolled to study in Grade 1 which is part of the compulsory education.
