With beach rebuild stalled, Pattaya patches sand holes for fleet show

PATTAYA:-- With the Pattaya’s massive beach-restoration project in prolonged limbo, the city has deployed work crews at night for emergency patch jobs so that military leaders from Thailand’s neighbors don’t arrive for this month’s international fleet show to see a beach pockmarked by erosion.

Pattaya spokesman Pinit Maneerat said city hall issued urgent orders to refill spots left barren of sand by recent storms so the beach looks presentable for the international dignitaries.

He said the work stared at Soi 1 and will continue to the southern end, filling in holes where needed. The work will be done at night so as not to inconvenience tourists, Pinit said.

Mummy, Mummy . . . let's go to Pattaya  . . . they've got some fag-free sand there now.

Fixing the beach, fixing the zebra crossing lights,

clearing the area of working girls, maybe VIP's need to come

to Pattaya more often,as still a lot to do,it will be back to "normal"

when they have left.

The beach repairs are most welcome and so are the working traffic lights for pedestrians crossing beach road. I only wish City Hall would react this quickly for all repairs, without a scheduled special event.

They'll be hoping it doesn't rain again then

Forecast related to some of the storm systems heading for Vietnam shows the area will be om the edge of the system and that means it might be blue skies and nice or sudden thunderstorms that dump a lot of rain in a short time.

Take a look at windyty site.

I like to watch it regularly and it appears to be fairly accurate.

Try fixing the leaders first as the rest will take care of its self, but not for another 20 years if he who is democratic has his way.

its getting more and more embarrassing every day, to tell people I live in pattaya  sighhhhh....will these children ever grow up..
