Education certificate/ Resume For renewing a work permit?

next month my work permit expired (Work permit for two years)
As part of the conditions for renewal My lawyer asked me to bring him " Education certificate and Resume"

I know they asking this for a new work permit for the first time (and i give it in the firts time 2 yaers ago)

why theu Asking for it also in the renewal of the working permit?
Is there a possibility that the lawyer is wrong? Renewing a work permit should be a very simple things no?

Unless things have changed I have never had to provide anything at all for a renewal, the company has to, but the individual normally not.
