Thai authorities have issued new Air Operator Certificates to 13 airlines after the International Civil Aviation Organisation removed its red flag warning on Thailand.

Deputy premier Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the aviation safety issue, said the country would have to work hard to maintain its high regulatory standard on aviation safety.

The removal of red flag warnings has boosted the international community’s confidence about flying on Thai-registered airlines, he said.

Is he accountable?

Is he accountable? You mean as in accountable like he was for the security of Yingluck.

Good question but I think Prayut and his Cabinet ministers have immunity from accountability. And if they haven't Article 44 will soon provide it should the need arise.......retrospective to the day they took office.

Not by me thanks

Aircraft maintenance is no joke and in fact needs to be above standards !

And let's never forget that many of the best amongst the finest airlines, have suffered at least one aircrash, with tragic outcomes for some.

Do they still have to check the jet engines at Don Mung for golf balls before start up?

I read the headline as "Lying Certificates" which seemed appropriate

13 gold stars out of 41 carriers.... yay... confidence in abundance.

Does this mean Thai Airways will start to fly non-stop BKK to the US soon?
