One Year Multi-entry Australian Tourist Visa

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody.Have a couple of questions about tourist visas.

Last October my wife(Thai) obtained a visa to visit her sister in Oz.

She has just returned, after staying nearly 3 months. She was saying that she would like to

visit again next year, taking our 2 children with her for a holiday. The children are

of dual Thai/British nationality.

Looking at my wife's passport,I saw that she has been given a one year multiple entry visa

valid until next October. She now thinks she would like to go during the next

school holidays here in Ubon, from mid-March until mid-May.

Will there be any problem with my wife returning to Australia so soon after returning to

Thailand?

Will I be able to get visa for my children over the internet,as is possible for UK citizens,

or will we have to apply through the embassy in Bangkok.I intend,if it is easier, for the

children to enter Australia on their British passports.

I will not be travelling with them, have to go back to work.

Any information gratefully received.

Thanks.

With a 12 month multiple entry visa there are no time restrictions that need to be observed between visits.

If your children are to be accompanied by your wife, upon arrival in Oz you could cause confusion with Immigration officials if she is traveling on her Thai passport and her children are traveling on their British passport. It may cause some processing delays whilst questions are asked.

Apart from that, I can't see any problem.

Read the options available to you re tourist visas and an Electronic Travel Authority available to British Citizens. Click here and follow the links.

Thanks for the replies.

If she goes again, will use the childrens British passports.

Surname is the same ass in wifes Thai passport,so shouldn't

be any problem. They will also have their Thai passports with them

to show if necessary.

Think it is more conveniant to apply for visas via the internet insyead

of having to post everything down to Bangkok.

Thanks again.
