The Ministry of Finance is coming up with another idea to give free SIM cards to low-income earners so they could access to the Internet easily with hope that they could make some earnings from the use.

But it has yet to consider if free mobile phones will also be given in addition to subsidizing their monthly fees. The new idea was revealed yesterday (Nov 15) by Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong.

He said the ministry is considering to give SIM cards freely to low-income earners who now have the government welfare cards so they can access to the internet easily.

Free SIMM cards are already available everywhere.. I think that this report means that the MoF would provide free SIMMS pre-loaded with a cash amount to enable access to a selected IP's Internet service.

Anyway, it's only an idea.

Better to guess who would be the IP in cahoots with the MoF.

Wonder if it will be sponsored by Apple IPhone?

I could not get my AOT internet working properly & I was paying for it

100,000 of these thing blocking up the system,,,,,,,,,, wonderful

Getting a free phone that is just used for it's initial use, that is to make and receive a call....fine....everybody should have access to this technology now.....

...but the scheme may lead to increase the well known scenes of people,  bluntly staring and twiddling  on their smartphones like robots....and explose the medical diagnoses of nomophobia !!

Welcome to globalization...v. 4.0
