Video: Nasty thief steals half blind and half deaf gran's medicine money in hospital waiting room

CCTV footage from Ratburana Hospital in Bangkok showed a nasty female thief stealing 8,000 baht from a half blind, half deaf grandmother waiting for a consultation at the gynecology department.

Angun Bunsin, in her mid-seventies, told Daily News she had struck up a pleasant conversation with the 35-40 year old woman sitting next to her.

She claimed she was there visiting and helping a relative who was admitted upstairs at the hospital.

But when her Angun's attention was diverted as she tried to listen to the queue announcement the thief saw her chance and lifted all her money that was to pay for her treatment and medicine.

Ratburana police have a good idea of the identity of the woman who they say is a serial thief at hospitals.

It's hard to believe how low some evil people will go with crime.

Assuming she gets caught (as they have a good idea of her identity), give her a severe punishment that will ensure that she will be reluctant to re offend, and that will also act as a deterrent to any other thieving scumbags.

Financial compensation and wais to the victim, should never be an acceptable punishment  on its own.

Not too many years ago, when people didn't stare at those little smart phones, they would actually look at the world around them.  Of course, it is likely that girl is mentally off kilter and has no way to earn a living.  In either case sad to see

A serial thief who should have been locked up the first time and not allowed into the hospital again.

Why isn´t she locked up already when they are well aware of the situation? Nobody paid for the arrest yet?

The police will catch her and do nothing if they are given a share of the spoils.

I'm guessing the bright side is that the thief probably isn't a falang.

The fat <deleted> will say she needed money for another Big Mac. Scum of the earth!

I would love to hear that the offender has been caught and the money recovered and the offender will spend five years in jail.

If you read the story the old lady was distracted by old fashioned conversation not a phone.

If you understood what I wrote I did NOT say anything about the Old lady being distracted.  I said all the other people had their heads down and were playing with their little devices and were not aware of anything going on around them. In past years people would sit and be looking around and that greatly decreases the opportunities for these types of thefts.

It would have been more decreased if the lady was not talking. If like in the past people were also talking they would not have noticed it either.

I guess your one of those anti phone dinosaurs. Guess you opposed all change(not) when you were younger.

Hey, keep your negativity and suppositions to yourself.  You were wrong and now you keep attacking to justify your own views.  Your guess work is nonsense and inane

inane

There is scum in all walks of life not exclusive to Thailand. Let’s hope she gets caught and the old lady gets suitably compensated.

This would definately deserve full time jail and no impunity through an appology, a meager fine or a waï !

Cut off her finger.  Not a whole finger, just the first knuckle of her pinky, she can choose which hand.  She'll never forget the incident.

Often thought a certain proportion of any population are just amoral scum; Mrs. Nasty Thief's problem is she's in the wrong profession, should be a CEO or something.

The old Yakuza thing, supposed to be some sign of honour isn't it, hardly appropriate; anyway, the main disincentive is it ruins your golf game, doubt that would be a concern for Mrs. Nasty Thief.

Karma can also be cruel. Sad act by a desperate person.

Just as stupid as your guesswork blaming it on mobile phones. I get tired of the anti phone dinosaurs. Things change accept it.

The old lady got robbed its a timeless thing. Nothing to do with phones just with thieves.

Oh get a life and stop being a nit.  I never guessed and never blamed it on mobile phone!  Stop making and continuing to make stupid assertions that were never done.  Your dinosaur fixation is probably due to the walnut sized thing between your ears.  Now run along and tend to your paper route
