Im looking for a way to get from Bangkok to Chonburi and Chonburi to Bangkok weekly.

I was thinking the vans, but I dont know where the stations are.

If anyone could aim me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Google map links would be awesome or just addresses I can plug in.

Van are an extremely dangerous mode of transportation for little real value - you would be much safer in full size bus transportation and likely a lot more comfortable.

As this is a route that may have unwashed travelers the extra air in a bus could be very welcome.

Below site seems to present the options without my above prejudice (too many van rides between Penang and Hat Yai in younger years).

Lucky you.....

Not as expensive as you think and I've given a straight answer to a straight question.

With a limousine you pay one price and therefore negates the chance of a taxi driver doing the obligatory detour.

Your comment isn't so smart.

Shop about and be smart.

Notwithstanding the OP hasn't provided his budget.

The minivan is about 150 baht.... there is an app to determine whether you get the van at Morchit 2 or Ekkamai..... you do not say which day you wish to travel weekly.... there are private people who do the same trip, some daily.....

I live in Chonburi and often go to Bangkok on a weekly basis.

This is what I have learned so far:

1- Bus

By far the fastest and safest method.

Two possibilities : Ekkamai BoKoSor or Morchit

tickets are ฿67 to Ekkamai, purchased from a kiosk outside Eastern Hotel. Trip last from 1.3 H to under 2 hours depending of the time of day.

never taken the Morchit one though few extras are in order.

There is plenty of parking space should one decide to leave one's own mode of transport to the station.

The Eastern Hotel point is a convenient downtown station that seems to be more popular than the official Bus Station terminal located few km to the north east. Often a bus originating from The Eastern Hotel point passes by the main Terminal to pick up passengers or parcels.

A small diversion from the Sukhumvit road.

here are the locations of both points:

-Eastern Hotel
924 Sukhumvit Rd, Tambon Bang Pla Soi, Amphoe Mueang Chon Buri, Chang Wat Chon Buri 20000
038 273 800
https://goo.gl/maps/h4fDoUJJyeL2

-Chon Buri Bus Station
51, Moo 4, Sukhumvit Road, Tambon Ban Suan, Amphoe Mueang Chon Buri, Chon Buri, 20000, Tambon Ban Suan, Amphoe Mueang Chon Buri, Chang Wat Chon Buri 20000
038 282 685

2- Vans

Vans are best found along the Sukhumvit Road,

In addition to their safety records and frequent stops, I don't see them as viable unless I am desperate.

There is or was a van station just outside Central Chonburi that might trim the trip time but not the reckless driving.Hope I answered your question adequately.

Neglected to mention that the reverse track is true for the bus, but mercurial for the vans; used to be under the Victory monument bridge, though read elsewhere that it has moved and keep moving. Vans, often solicit outside Ekkamai BoKoSor to Chonburi, but I have avoided them so far.

How do you come to that assumption?

If you care to read the initial post it states "I was thinking the vans but I do not know where the stations are"

Any "normal" reader would assume the poster would not be asking about this mode of transport if he could afford a taxi or limousine.....as I say any "normal" person :whistling:

OK understand now....

And the bus/van?

Notwithstanding a person's budgetary constraints I'd  recommend either taking a limo or taxi rather than a van.  Even if it  caused a  strain on my lifestyle,  I'd rather be poor than place my safety and welfare in the hands of Thai van drivers.

If a person regularly took the Bkk/Patts route  I'd think some kind of special arrangement could be made between a taxi/limo driver and a passenger.

Not really no.

You assume not many people could afford limos / taxis, how could you possibly know this?

Ok, understand now?

Then he should ask for the cheapest way and not for the best way.

Loads of people can afford chauffeur driven limos, not that expensive at all - one of Thailands bargains - I use them regularly

Actually, one would also assume the OP is doing this trip for work, returning to Bangkok for the weekend so if the job is worth the hassle then getting there and back in comfort and relative safety for around 12,000 bah a month is a bargain.

I also live in Chonburi and would agree the bus to Ekamai as being the best option. The driver will normally stop under the Udon Suk BTS station and you can change to BTS there. At 67 baht fare, it is as good as it gets.

The only other option we sometimes use is to drive to the airport and take the airport link, but parking is a bit pricey.

If you do want to use the vans, then coming back to Chonburi the best option is BTS to Udon Suk and then walk on around the corner to the left where that are parked up.

PS. Just a note that you cannot get off the Ekamai bus at Udon Suk if you have put anything in the hold.
