"Most Hated German in Thailand" finds "true" love in the Gambia

A serial confidence trickster and sponger dubbed "the most hated German in Thailand" has now found a new home in Africa.

 

And it appears that Benjamin Holst has fallen in love with a local girl and has a "new family".

 

He also said on Facebook that he won't be coming back to Asia.

 

That will be music to the ears of the Thais who have blacklisted the schemer after he begged his way around Thailand pulling on the heartstrings to extort money from the kind locals.

 

He played on the fact that he has a big leg for sympathy.

 

Following one of his stunts he was then seen living it up with booze and prostitutes in Pattaya.

 

So immigration kicked him out and he has been wandering the globe since then trying to find someone who will have him.

 

He seems to have found that in Banjul, Gambia where he was pictured with a woman under a banner of "feeling love" at the Poco Loco Beach Bar.

 

"Gambia is a great country," he enthused as he met his "new family" and stated on his Facebook wall:

 

"Never more Asia - only Gambia."

 

The former MacDonalds employee is still listed in his profile as single and hailing from Flensburg, on the German/Danish border.

Sheeeshus.

Since September he's been to Taiwan, China, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, the Canary Islands (again) and now Gambia.

For someone with no job and whose only source of money (seemingly) is from begging, he's doing pretty ******* good.  Though he does seem to wear out his welcome pretty quickly everywhere he goes and I suspect Gambia will be no different.

begging by pretending to be in need by demonstrating  his ugly swollen leg -  which is betrayal as he uses the ill gotten money to travel the world, party and pay prostitutes.

 

He said he can make more than 100 Euro in a few hours by begging. 

 

It is no fun having a leg like his - even if it is not hurting and not dangerous. I can understand that he is looking for some fun and I am happy if he succeeds.

 

It would be ok if he were honest by having a poster like "I want your money  for travel the world, party and pay prostitutes". May be I would even donate ...

And if we don't hear about him anymore that would be excellent.

After they throw him out (and the rest of West Africa bans him) there's only North Korea and Afghanistan left for him...can't wait for the next update !

It was still monstrously big when he was in Europe a few months ago.

I get a laugh out of this, if he were in love with a ladyboy, the supportors would be lining up to wish the young couple well.   Good on him, he travels, he participates, he lives a life fuller than most posters on TV) And he doesn t hide what he is.

If and when he falls out of favor with the locals they are not going to be as easy on him as the people of Asia were.  They'll feed him to the wildlife, his remains will never be found.

 

Pretty obvious figure: a large white man with a deformed, oversized leg, not much of a chance of mistaken identity. Is he still begging?

I've been there too and Benjamin's new squeeze is Mabel but AFAIK she never worked the Poco Loco Beach Bar.
