I am about to make the trek down to the big smoke to apply for a new passport as my old one is full. They assure me that it can be posted to me when it arrives from OZ but what happens in the meantime, do I lose my old passport before I get the new one or do I end up with two valid passports? I will need them both when I go to Mae Hong Son to have the visa transferred so how do I manage this?

I was without my passport for 2 weeks when I renewed mine last year. I then had to transfer my work permit/non-immigrant B over to the new passport. I then promptly put my brand new passport through the wash and had to go through the whole cycle again.
