Relative beheaded in feud over threats

Featured Replies

A farmer was arrested on Sunday over the alleged killing and beheading of his brother-in-law, who had threatened to kill the suspect’s 65-year-old father in a drunken argument. The murder occurred in Battambang province’s Bavel district.

Seng Meoun, Bavel district deputy police chief, identified the suspect as Heang Vanna, 29, and his victim as Yung Tola, 25, also a farmer residing in the same village. According to witnesses and police investigation, Mr Tola spent Sunday morning heavily drinking with friends, causing his father-in-law to lash out at him over his behaviour.

Mr Tola then got angry at his father-in-law, threatening to kill him. The victim’s wife and their relatives separated the two men. After the argument, the victim went to sleep alone at his rice field’s hut.
