A Facebook video shows a family out for a drive on a scenic route in Chonburi.

Early in the clip the woman in the car talks about having just spent 50,000 baht on repairs to the BMW as a large monkey jumps on the vehicle.

The family were apparently out feeding the creatures on a road at Khao Sam Muk.

Sudenly the primate positions its posterior on the side mirror on the driver's side.

The driver does not want that so he turns on the windscreen wipers to scare off the animal. In a fright the creature jumps and the mirror comes loose prompting the woman to say that has cost them another 50,000.

The driver picks up the pieces and surveys them glumly as the woman makes light of the situation.

The event was featured on the Facebook page of Chontichar Suwan.

Viewed by the best part of a million people many wondered how a wing mirror on such a fancy car could come off so easily and suggested that the family would have been better served by giving the monkey food to pick up off the ground, reported Thai Rath.
