Is Hack RF one allowed in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi. I am an undergrad in computer engineering studying in Thammasat. As I am mainly focused in the area of Radio Frequencies, I would love to have the testing Hack RF one by greatscott for my research.

However, it can also be used as a hacking device. I checked Aliexpress and they ship to Thailand. When I checked the comments I found out that some people in Thailand has already bought it.

Will I get in trouble if I order one? Will the post man bring it home or do I have to go and pick up?

Here is the link of the product.

Since it can transmit it is almost certainly illegal in Thailand.

But, ship it by regular post and the chances of it being intercepted are small. Do NOT involve any of the courier companies (DHL, FedEx etc.).

If it didn't say "HackRF One" in large letters on the top it could be any WiFi router (which would technically need an import licence anyway) and be ignored as small-fry even if opened.

Of course if you get caught using it for illicit activities ...
