Hey guys! I will be traveling to bangkok around 28/12 - 5/1 and wish to visit one of the clubs in RCA...

As this is my first visit, i like to have some rough advice about the alcohol price maybe for both beers and whiskey/liquor.

Is Onyx better or ROute 66? Im going around new year eve... hope the price wouldnt hike that much :(

Thank you!

Route66 is much better for foreigners. Thais go there often to meet foreigners. Onyx is more young Thai crowd whose English is ends with "Hello" or are uninterested to talk to you.

I haven't been there some time but cocktails (strong like Long Island) are about 200 thb, beers are overpriced as every club. Common is to buy a bottle of spirit and get served on your table - during NYE they don't sell the cheaper bottles (~ 2000THB) but only the higher level - they publish more info about prices on FB page few weeks before

No need to reservation

Well depends what nights ... but Route66 has 4 stages during big events such NYE and 3 regularly Fri-Sun so easy to choose ... during week the large area is rnb and other one live music

For Route 66, if you don't go for the whiskey bottle-opening thing, and just want to drink beers, how much is the entry fee (if there is one) on a weeknight (I normally prefer to go on a weeknight, as I am pretty sure Fri and Sat nights would be way too crowded) ? And, I am assuming local beers (there would only be small bottles of course, I am guessing) are around 200-250 baht  ; right ?

Thanks.

It is mainstream club for young people so it's not that overpriced... I think beers are about 150tbh

You pay 300 THB to enter, but technically speaking it is not a fee as you get 300 THB worth of coupons for drinks.

What a load of crap, you don't get 300 baht of drink coupons. you pay 300 to enter but they only give you 200 baht of coupons. They have been keeping the 100 baht coupon in their coupon book and only tear out the other coupons. Have no idea when this crap started but for the past 2 months at the minimum.

How do Thais go to meet foreigners when they're in a big group of Thais (male & female) standing around a table all night (which you can't get access to) or already come with foreigner friends at their mixed group table? Not to mention the Thais who only hang out at the Thai band side. Maybe a very tiny handful might.

DJ sucks balls at Route66. Whenever a good hip hop song comes on he plays like 20-30 seconds of it and changes to the next one. What's the deal with that? But when a crappy Justin Bieber song or Korean song that no foreigners like or know of comes on, he plays the whole song while the Thais go crazy lol.

Problem with BKK is that there's no good hip hop clubs. Too much EDM & house crap being played and no good DJs in BKK. I will DJ better music at condo gym from my phone while I'm lifting weights lol.

Fri/Sat hasn't been crowded every time I've been there recently. It's about half the peeps of when it was a year or two ago. probably why they are trying to rip off foreigners by only giving them 200 baht drink coupons instead or 300 like they used to.

Haven't tried counting lol. But there is a sheetload of foreigners there, it's becoming a foreigner sausagefest compared to a 4 years ago.
